This viral "NYC meets Montreal-style" bagel shop just opened its first Chicago location. Call Your Mother Deli is the newest schmear spot on the block, offering fresh-baked bagels, mouthwatering sandwiches, and more. - Staff Writer · May 20, 2026 Chicago might not have a reputation as a bagel town, but one viral schmear shop is on a mission to change that. Social media sensation Call Your Mother Deli just opened its first Windy City outpost - and to say fans are excited would be an understatement! Here's everything to know about the foodie-favorite spot. Call Your Mother rolls out in Wicker Park. Call Your Mother Deli officially launched its first Chicago storefront on Tuesday, May 19, at 1615 N. Damen Avenue in Wicker Park. The Washington D.C.-based chain started as a humble farmers market stand and has since expanded its footprint to locations across North America. Call Your Mother specializes in what it describes as "somewhere between a classic NY-style bagel" and the sweeter, denser bagels custom to Montreal, Canada. Discover recommended experiences The Wicker Park menu includes staples like Everything, Cinnamon Raisin, and Pretzel bagels. Pair any bagel with a creative schmear flavor like Strawberry Cheesecake and Candied Salmon cream cheese. Also on the menu are a wide variety of whacky bagel sandwiches. Opt for the "Hidden Cove" with mashed avocado and Korean pickled cucumbers. Or the "Jetski" with pastrami, jalapeño, and melted cheddar. Additional food highlights include toasted latke chips, fresh-baked cookies and cinnamon rolls, sour pickles, and more. Fancy a funky or fruity drink? There's also a cherry iced matcha latte, along with cold brew coffees, chais, and other bevvies. So next time you're in Wicker, be sure to stop by Call Your Mother's to see what all the hype is about!
