"We are thrilled to welcome Carol Browner to our team," said Ravi Mikkelsen, CEO of Atmos Financial. "Her extensive background in environmental policy and international market-driven solutions align perfectly with our plans to activate the global banking sector for climate-positive finance. Her leadership will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and expand our impact."During her tenure at the EPA from 1993 to 2001, Browner was instrumental in implementing significant air quality standards and accelerating the cleanup of contaminated sites. As President Obama's climate advisor, she played a key role in coordinating the administration's climate and energy policies, promoting clean energy legislation, and advancing vehicle emission standards."If we are truly interested in changing the course we need to make smart investments in our future – that drive cleaner energy and slash climate pollution," said Browner. "That's why I am so excited to join Atmos Financial. Their technology will help resources like the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund deploy capital more cost-effectively, at greater speed, and amplify their impact by crowding-in private capital
Proven financial services product from Atmos complements the equity-driven team at Clean Energy Fund of TexasHOUSTON, July 11, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial technology company Atmos Financial has signed an agreement with the first "green bank" in Texas, Clean Energy Fund of Texas , to help accelerate capital deployment into clean energy. The agreement is contingent on the Clean Energy Fund of Texas receiving funding from the Coalition for Green Capital, which recently was awarded $5 billion from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).The Clean Energy Fund of Texas is a financing provider for Texans of all backgrounds. Its mission is to develop and offer cost-effective ways for Texans to finance the installation of clean, renewable energy sources like solar, battery storage, and energy efficiency upgrades.Atmos has developed proprietary software to leverage capital from the EPA's Greenhouse Gas Relief Fund to help bring in more private capital to support solar energy and electrification. Under this agreement, Atmos would acquire, underwrite and service clean energy loans while ensuring smooth experiences for customers and the highest levels of security."The creation of the first green bank in Texas is a monumental event for accelerating the equitable transition for all residents and businesses of Texas," said Ravi Mikkelsen, Co-Founder and CEO of Atmos Financial. "Atmos is thrilled to have been selected to provide end to end lending services to the team so that they can focus on creating impact in their community, instead of on back-office tasks and software development

But then, I found out a way I can save thousands of dollars on my addiction to Patagonia gear over the course of my life, which really made my day.In this episode, Ravi, who was literally chosen by a Cistene Chapel-esque beam of light to do climate advocacy work (the full story is in the pod), shares some real nuggets of wisdom stemming from several decades working within the financial ecosystem to elicit positive change. As CEO of Atmos Financial, Ravi is now hitting the consumer market head on, helping people rest better, knowing their money is funding nothing but clean energy projects. One of Atmos key products, a pretty standard checking account, is anything but standard. Shifting money into Atmos was a no-brainer for me — I signed up for a checking account as soon as I talked about the subject with Ravi
