Tailor

Headless ERP platform for omnichannel retail

Overview

Tailor provides a headless ERP platform for modern retail and e-commerce brands, offering a composable, API-first backend for operations like inventory, supply chain, purchasing, production, accounting, and omnichannel orders. The frontend is decoupled, so customers can use Tailor’s modules, connect existing tools, or build custom interfaces and workflows via APIs and GraphQL. It integrates with 50+ tools (Shopify, QuickBooks) and charges based on which modules and services are used. Its goal is to help fast-growing retailers adapt quickly to market changes, scale across DTC and B2B, and expand into North America while strengthening in Japan, with ongoing product development including AI.

Tailor Announces $37 Million Series A to Accelerate Expansion of Composable, Headless ERP

Tailor announces $37 million Series A to Accelerate expansion of composable, headless ERP. Final Close of Series A Fundraising Added $15M in Additional Funding and Several New Investors SAN FRANCISCO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Tailor, the headless ERP platform enabling modern retail and ecommerce brands to build fully composable business systems, today announced the completion of its Series A funding round, bringing total investment to $37 million. "With Tailor, it actually feels like we have a partner - not just a vendor. Their team understands both the tech and the day-to-day reality of running a retail business." Share "We're grateful to our investors and customers who share our belief that ERP should be composable and built around how each business actually operates," said Yo Shibata, co-founder and CEO of Tailor. "The markets have faced anything but predictability in 2025, and we've heard from enterprise and SMB customers alike that empowering operations teams with agility and flexibility is more critical than ever." This final close follows earlier rounds announced in May and July 2025 with participation from New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Y Combinator, and several Japanese private and government-backed funds. New investors joining this round include i-nest capital, ALPHA, Fukoku CVC Fund, JPS Growth Investment Limited Partnership (Japan Post Investment Corporation), and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank. Global Brain and Globis Capital Partners, both investors from Tailor's seed round, also increased their commitments in this final close. The new funding will accelerate Tailor's U.S. expansion and support continued product development and enterprise implementations in Japan, where the company was founded. "As retail and ecommerce brands grapple with tariff-related costs, omnichannel complexity, and unpredictable supply chains, the need for a right-sized ERP that's fast and easy to implement has never been greater," Shibata added. Tailor has emerged as a leader in modular, API-first ERP systems, empowering operators to modernize their back-office infrastructure without sacrificing flexibility or speed. Its headless, composable architecture separates the data and logic layers from the user interface, allowing companies to connect best-of-breed tools, customize workflows through APIs, and evolve their operations without being locked into rigid or expensive systems. Universal Jewelry, a California-based wholesale and DTC men's jewelry brand, started with one of Tailor's Shopify connectors after struggling with a brittle third-party solution. Once they validated real-time synchronization across channels and the ability to customize logic for complex workflows, they decided to expand into Tailor's broader ERP modules. "With Tailor, it actually feels like we have a partner - not just a vendor. Their team understands both the tech and the day-to-day reality of running a retail business. Instead of waiting weeks for fixes or explanations, we're solving problems together in real time," said James Kao, CEO of Universal Jewelry. With $37 million in total Series A funding, Tailor plans to: * Accelerate product development of its modular ERP platform - including inventory, purchasing, and finance modules, plus native AI capabilities. * Expand its U.S. presence to support mid-sized and enterprise commerce operators. * Deepen customer success and implementation capabilities in North America and Japan. * Broaden ecosystem partnerships to help brands unify their operational stack under a composable architecture. About Tailor Tailor is the headless ERP for modern mid-sized and enterprise businesses. Purpose-built for operators in retail, ecommerce, and supply chain, Tailor enables companies to automate workflows and quickly adapt to change. Tailor's composable architecture empowers companies to streamline operations with customizable modules for inventory, purchasing, fulfillment, finance, and omnichannel management.
