Acusensus lands $31m Kentucky work zone speed enforcement contract as US expansion accelerates. By Business News Australia 4 August 2026 Melbourne-based road safety technology company Acusensus (ASX: ACE) has secured an agreement worth up to US$20 million ($31 million) with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to supply real-time speed enforcement services across the state's highway work zones. The initial order is worth US$2.1 million ($3.3 million) over one year, covering the deployment of Acusensus's automated speed enforcement trailers to active construction zones statewide. The contract can be extended through fleet expansions and term renewals to 31 July 2031, at which point the cumulative value would reach the US$20 million ceiling. Kentucky becomes Acusensus's third concurrent statewide work zone enforcement program in the United States, joining Connecticut and Arkansas. The company secured a US$22.6 million five-year contract with the Connecticut Department of Transportation in October last year and has been operating a pilot program in Kentucky since September that year. The Kentucky program was enabled by the Jared Lee Helton Act of 2025, state legislation that authorised automated speed enforcement in highway work zones to protect road workers and motorists. "I am very pleased to be expanding our relationship with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet with this ongoing, state-wide program to protect road workers in Kentucky's highway work zones," says says Acusensus founder and managing director Alex Jannink. "The Jared Lee Helton Act is one of a growing number of US state-level initiatives to keep roadworkers and road users safe in high risk areas of the road network. "We are proud to support these initiatives with our unique enforcement solutions." Jannink says state-wide work zone programs Acusensus supplies in the US, alongside Connecticut and Arkansas, provide a recurring revenue base and "a proven delivery model which we can replicate as further states legislate". "I look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as we expand the program across the commonwealth," he says. The win extends a run of contract momentum for the company on both sides of the Pacific. In late July, Acusensus announced a $4.3 million 12-month extension to its Queensland mobile phone detection program, while a $16 million per six-month extension to its NSW contract was confirmed in June. The US expansion comes as Acusensus reported strong first-half results for FY26, with revenue climbing 40 per cent year-on-year to $40.3 million. In May, the company reaffirmed full-year revenue guidance of $83 million to $87 million and adjusted EBITDA guidance of $7.2 million to $8.2 million. North America has become a key growth vector for the business, which built its reputation on automated detection of mobile phone use and seatbelt non-compliance for Australian state governments. The work zone speed enforcement model offers a different revenue profile, with multi-year statewide contracts underpinned by enabling legislation rather than shorter-duration government procurement cycles. Acusensus now operates enforcement technology programs across Australia and the United States, with its platform processing millions of vehicle events to detect unsafe driving behaviour using artificial intelligence and high-resolution imaging. The company's shares were trading 14 per cent higher at $1.14 at 12.49pm (AEST). Business News Australia Australia's business news. Free. Always. Acusensus recognised nationally at the 2026 Australian Road Safety Awards for seatbelt non-compliance technology. July 3, 2026 Seatbelts save lives. Acusensus has been recognised with the Technology Award at the 2026 Australian Road Safety Foundation Awards for its seatbelt compliance detection technology. The numbers behind this award tell the real story. In 2021, Queensland Transport and Main Roads pioneered the use of its technology to detect seatbelt non-compliance, scaling from four to 21 solutions. Between August 2021 and December 2025, non-compliance rates improved fourfold. These numbers represent people who buckled up and made it home to their families. That's the real measure of success behind this recognition. Thank you to the ARSF for recognising this work, and to its partner on this program, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. Congratulations also to the fellow finalists and winners working toward the same goal: changing behaviours, saving lives. #RoadSafety #SeatbeltSafety #ChangingBehaviours #TechnologyAward #ARSF

National Road Safety Week 2026: drive safely on regional/rural/remote roads. May 25, 2026 Driving on regional, rural and remote roads presents a unique set of conditions. From long distances and changing road surfaces to the presence of wildlife, the regional landscape requires a different level of awareness and preparation. As part of National Road Safety Week, today Acusensus Australia Pty Ltd highlight the importance of safety on regional roads. The Western Australian Road Safety Commission has demonstrated leadership in addressing road safety in these critical areas, as multi-function trailers have been deployed across the state, from the Mid West to the Great Southern. This program is designed to support the state's goal of creating a safer road environment - education and enforcement are helping change behaviours through discouraging habits like distraction, speeding and seatbelt non-compliance, including in country roads, where most fatal crashes occur. Together with the Road Safety Commission, Acusensus Australia Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring that no matter how remote the journey, every road user has the best opportunity to return home safely.
Acusensus reaffirms full-year earnings guidance as US sales pipeline hits record breadth. By Business News Australia 6 May 2026 Acusensus co-founder and CEO Alexander Jannink Road safety technology company Acusensus (ASX: ACE) has reaffirmed its full-year revenue guidance for FY26, pointing to accelerating momentum in international markets and a US sales pipeline it describes as broader than at any prior point in its history. The Melbourne-based company is targeting revenue of $83 million to $87 million and adjusted EBITDA guidance of $7.2 million to $8.2 million for the year, which is up from the $59.4 million and $5.7 million respectively recorded in FY25. The guidance reaffirmation comes after the company upgraded its FY26 revenue outlook in November from a prior range of $79 million to $84 million. Acusensus co-founder and CEO Alexander Jannink says the company has built on a period of "substantial operational progress and strategic execution" in FY25. "This past year has solidified our position as a global leader in AI-enabled road safety, delivering tangible results both financially and in our core mission to save lives," he says. "Our achievements have laid a strong foundation for continued success in FY26 and beyond." Acusensus has secured a record 84 per cent increase in total contract value since inception, adding $172 million year-on-year. "This growth was driven by significant domestic and international new contract wins and expansions with existing customers," says Jannink. "This includes the successful renewal of our very first contract with NSW for mobile phone and seatbelt, which speaks to the value and trust we've built with our government partners." Jannink says a key highlight this year has been the successful deployment of the group's multi-function enforcement technology in Western Australia. "Our global expansion saw significant progress, with the mobilisation of our New Zealand mobile speed contract progressing well and expected to get to full deployment capacity by the end of 1H FY26. "Our presence in the USA grew from a single enforcement jurisdiction to six, demonstrating strong momentum and market demand." The company's research and development activities have led to advances in its road worker safety technology, a major milestone for which was the signing of a long-term commercial contract with Fulton Hogan which has enabled Acusensus to deploy the solutions across selected Australian worksites. Meanwhile, the US remains the centrepiece of the company's growth strategy. Acusensus has added three experienced sales hires to its US team since the start of the calendar year, with total headcount expected to reach 50 by financial year-end. The Connecticut Department of Transportation work zone speed enforcement program, valued at an estimated US$22.6 million ($35 million) over five years, is progressing toward go-live. Beyond the US, the company highlights progress across several international markets. In New Zealand, its mobile speed enforcement program is running above plan and in the UK, Acusensus is operating three concurrent programs. The company has also tested a new low-capital-expenditure red light and speed enforcement system in NSW, signalling potential expansion of its domestic product suite. The news comes after Acusensus secured its $30 million capital raise in December, which attracted backing from new institutional investors including Ellerston Capital and Perennial Value Management alongside existing shareholders. The company has been applying the funds to pursue contracts in the US, UK and broader international markets. Acusensus was founded in 2018 and develops AI-powered traffic enforcement technology, including its flagship Heads-Up Real-Time system for detecting illegal mobile phone use and seatbelt non-compliance. The company has expanded from its Australian base into automated speed and red light enforcement across multiple jurisdictions. Business News Australia Australia's business news. Free. Always.
