AlTi Global records $20M loss after external manager's health crisis forces fund wind-down

AlTi Global, a wealth management firm with $96 billion in assets, reported a nearly $20 million investment loss on its stake in Arkkan Capital's Asian Credit and Special Situations fund during the second quarter of 2026. Interim CEO Nancy Curtin attributed the loss to an "extraordinary circumstance" after the fund's founder and chief investment officer experienced a sudden health event. Following this, the manager decided to unwind the fund within 12 months, resulting in an unrealized investment loss. The firm reported total assets under management of $51 billion at quarter-end, up 8% year-over-year. Total revenue reached $58 million, an 11% increase from the previous year. Curtin declined to comment substantially on reports of acquisition talks with Franklin Templeton, stating only that the strategic review process remains ongoing.

AlTi Global revenue grows 11% to $58M amid $700M net client inflows and cost cuts

AlTi Global reported 11% year-over-year revenue growth to $58 million in Q2 2026, driven by strong net client inflows of approximately $700 million. Assets under management reached $51 billion, up 8% from the prior year. The wealth management firm posted adjusted EBITDA of over $5 million, a 9% increase. Operating expenses fell 12% year-over-year, including a 40% reduction in professional fees, reflecting cost control initiatives implemented through zero-based budgeting. However, AlTi recorded an unrealized investment loss of nearly $19 million following an external manager's decision to unwind the Asian Credit and Special Situations Strategy. This move is expected to reduce future recurring management fees and incentive distributions. The company reported a GAAP net loss from continuing operations of $31 million for the quarter, compared to $26 million in the prior year period.

The wealth management firm recorded approximately $700 million in net client flows during the quarter. However, AlTi posted a nearly $19 million unrealised investment loss following the wind-down of an external Asian credit strategy. The fund's closure followed a serious health event affecting its founder and chief investment officer. Interim CEO Nancy Curtin said the company's investment positioning in technology, energy and power infrastructure benefited from longer-term demand trends. Recurring management and advisory fees rose 11% to $54 million, representing the majority of AlTi's revenue base.

AlTi Global names names Miami office leader.

AlTi Global names names Miami office leader. Editorial Staff July 22, 2026 Pachon, a wealth advisor with more than two decades of experience serving ultra-high net worth families, is joining as AlTi expands its presence in one of the fastest-growing US wealth hubs. AlTi Global, aka AlTi Tiedemann Global, has hired Cesar Pachon to lead its Miami office. Pachon is a senior wealth advisor with more than two decades of experience serving ultra-high net worth individuals, families and entrepreneurs. He was a founding partner of a multi-family office in South Florida and has advised internationally-connected families on wealth planning. Pachon began his career in investment banking before moving into wealth management. Miami has become a destination for ultra-high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and family offices. For example, it lacks a state income tax - an attraction for those leaving states such as New York, Illinois and California. Miami is also an important financial center for those based in Latin America and the Caribbean, as explored by its US correspondent here and here. Pachon will work with Jim Bertles, AlTi's co-head of US wealth planning based in Palm Beach, to support the firm's growth in South Florida. Pachon's expertise advising international families with assets in the US is expected to contribute to AlTi's expansion in Miami, building on the firm's offshore business led by Ricardo de la Serna and Jose Remy, in a market where domestic and international wealth increasingly converge. The firm is an independent global wealth manager with about $90 billion in combined assets. FWR has looked at a potential go-private move by the international firm. See here.
