The initiative identifies chiropractors and acupuncturists who meet enhanced standards focused on member experience, including patient satisfaction, evidence-based care delivery, and clinic quality. The programme uses data from ASHP's Clinical Performance System to select providers who exceed traditional clinical quality criteria. ASHP's integrated conservative-care programmes have previously demonstrated 10% to 56% reductions in musculoskeletal costs through performance monitoring and contracting. American Specialty Health, a national musculoskeletal healthcare technology company, has expanded its Digital MSK Platform with a new injury prevention module aimed at helping health plans and employers reduce costs whilst supporting member wellbeing. The module is the third self-care offering in ASH's phased platform expansion, which already includes acute injury recovery and chronic pain management modules that deliver 50-70% savings compared to other digital MSK programmes. It provides personalised movement exercises, strength-building routines and body-awareness techniques designed to reduce injury risk before conditions escalate into higher-cost care. The platform serves over 62 million members nationwide and operates a network of more than 126,000 integrative providers. Another module is planned for release later this year.
American Specialty Health has launched a Site-of-Care programme for hospital outpatient physical and occupational therapy aimed at reducing costs by up to 35% whilst maintaining clinical quality. The programme helps health plans direct patients to lower-cost in-network clinics or virtual therapy providers where appropriate. The initiative addresses rising healthcare costs driven by site-of-care price differences. According to research published in JAMA Network Open, moving suitable cases to alternative care sites could save the US health system over $110 billion annually. Licensed physical or occupational therapists peer-review redirection decisions based on medical policies and patient needs. The programme includes concierge-level support to help members transition smoothly, with ASH coordinating scheduling and providing ongoing guidance. The service operates across all 50 US states.
