Anaqua acquires Unified Patents to combat rising IP litigation risk

Anaqua, a provider of intellectual property management technology, has acquired Unified Patents, which specialises in IP risk mitigation and intelligence solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal aims to address escalating IP litigation risks facing organisations. The company monitors patent assertion activity, challenges weak patents, and negotiates royalty-free licences. Kevin Jakel, co-founder and CEO of Unified Patents, joins Anaqua as chief intellectual property strategist. Co-founder Shawn Ambwani becomes senior vice president and head of Unified Patents.
