IoT security push reshapes Blockchain in Smart Home Market. Published: August 7, 2026 Viakoo launches Device Configuration Manager at Black Hat 2026 to combat IoT security drift in Smart environments. LAS VEGAS, Nevada, United States - August 5, 2026 - Viakoo, Inc., a leader in automated operational technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) device cyber hygiene, unveiled its new Device Configuration Manager (DXM) module at Black Hat USA 2026, reinforcing the urgent security imperatives that are accelerating adoption across the Blockchain in Smart Home Market, which is projected to grow from USD 520.0 million in 2023 to USD 5,815.3 million by 2030 at a CAGR of 41.2%, according to Next Move Strategy Consulting. The announcement, made at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, highlights a deepening industry consensus that smart home and building IoT environments face a systemic security gap driven by configuration drift - unauthorized or unmonitored changes to device parameters that introduce cyber vulnerabilities and operational disruptions. According to the SANS Institute's latest State of ICS/OT Security Report, only 12.6% of organizations report full visibility across the ICS Cyber Kill Chain, with the largest gaps occurring at the controller and process level, precisely where configuration drift takes hold. Viakoo's DXM module addresses this gap through automated, policy-driven configuration control and drift remediation across enterprise OT/IoT environments. The platform provides continuous, agentless auditing of device configuration parameters against established security baselines, automated identification of unauthorized changes, and instant policy-driven correction to return endpoints to a verified, compliant state. The module is scheduled for general availability in Q4 2026 as an integrated component of the Viakoo Action Platform(TM). Beyond the DXM launch, Viakoo announced expanded partnerships with global building-infrastructure leaders Johnson Controls, Axis Communications, and Honeywell - ensuring that building management systems, IP cameras, and access control systems remain continuously patched, compliant, and cyber-resilient. The company also deepened integrations with five of the seven top performers in Gartner's 2026 CPS Protection Platform Magic Quadrant, including Armis, Forescout, Nozomi Networks, and Claroty, and became available through the ServiceNow Marketplace. Key highlights: * Device Configuration Manager (DXM) - Viakoo's newly launched module delivers automated, agentless configuration drift detection and policy-driven remediation across OT and IoT environments, directly addressing one of the most critical unresolved security vulnerabilities in smart home and building management ecosystems. * Only 12.6% of organizations report full visibility across the ICS Cyber Kill Chain, per the SANS Institute's latest report, underscoring the scale of the security gap that decentralized, blockchain-based authentication frameworks are increasingly positioned to address. * Strategic partnerships with Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and Axis Communications extend Viakoo's remediation capabilities into building management systems, access control, and IP surveillance - core components of the smart home security and automation stack. * Viakoo's platform now integrates with five of the seven top performers in Gartner's 2026 CPS Protection Platform Magic Quadrant and is available through the ServiceNow Marketplace, signaling accelerating enterprise-scale adoption of automated IoT security solutions. Analyst insight: According to analysts at Next Move Strategy Consulting, the Viakoo announcement at Black Hat USA 2026 is emblematic of a broader structural shift in how enterprises and smart home operators are approaching IoT device security - moving from reactive patching toward continuous, automated compliance enforcement. NMSC analysts note that the persistent configuration drift challenge highlighted by Viakoo directly reinforces the value proposition of blockchain-based smart home security frameworks, which offer decentralized, tamper-proof device authentication and immutable audit trails that complement automated remediation platforms. As the Blockchain in Smart Home Market advances toward its projected USD 5,815.3 million valuation by 2030, the convergence of automated cyber hygiene tools and blockchain-enabled trust architectures is expected to define the next generation of secure, resilient smart home ecosystems. Industry outlook: The developments announced at Black Hat USA 2026 signal a pivotal maturation point for the IoT security landscape, with direct implications for the Blockchain in Smart Home Market. As smart home deployments scale across residential, commercial, and industrial segments, the inability of centralized security architectures to prevent configuration drift and unauthorized device access is accelerating demand for decentralized, blockchain-based trust models. The entry of enterprise-grade remediation platforms into the building management and smart home space - backed by partnerships with global infrastructure leaders such as Johnson Controls and Honeywell - is expected to raise the security baseline across the industry. With the Blockchain in Smart Home Market projected to expand at a CAGR of 41.2% through 2030, the integration of automated cyber hygiene with blockchain-enabled device authentication and smart contract governance is poised to become a foundational architecture for the secure smart home of the future. Why security features can significantly increase commercial property value. Security has become a deciding factor for many occupiers. When businesses search for commercial premises, security is no longer viewed as an optional extra. It has become a core requirement. Whether a business stores valuable stock, expensive equipment, confidential information or company vehicles, occupiers increasingly expect commercial properties to provide a safe and secure working environment. As a result, well-secured commercial buildings often attract stronger demand, command higher rents and experience lower vacancy rates than comparable properties with limited security measures. At Citrus Commercial Circle, Citrus Commercial Circle regularly advise landlords and investors across Bury, North Manchester and the wider North West on improvements that increase both occupier appeal and long-term asset value. Security is no longer simply about preventing crime - it is about protecting businesses, reducing costs and creating confidence. Modern businesses expect secure premises. Business owners have become increasingly aware of the financial impact of theft, vandalism and unauthorised access. A secure property can help protect: * Stock * Machinery * Company vehicles * Tools and equipment * IT hardware * Sensitive documents Businesses are often willing to pay a premium for premises that reduce operational risk.
