Barton Malow awarded AGC Baldwin Group Build America Award for BlueOval SK Battery Park Kentucky. BlueOval SK Battery Park Kentucky earned the 2025 Baldwin Group Build America Award from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). On Thursday, March 26, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) presented Barton Malow with the 2025 Baldwin Group Build America Award for BlueOval SK Battery Park Kentucky - a $5.8 billion EV battery campus in Glendale, Kentucky. The project was recognized in the Industrial category. A joint venture between Ford Motor Company and SK On, BlueOval SK Battery Park represents the single-largest manufacturing investment by any automaker in U.S. history. Barton Malow partnered with Lexington-based Gray Construction to deliver two colossal battery manufacturing facilities totaling 9 million SF under roof. The team moved 4.3 million cubic yards of soil, laid 283,000 tons of stone, poured 66,000 cubic yards of concrete, and erected over 40,000 tons of steel with 4,700 craft workers on site at peak. About the Award. The Build America Award recognizes the most outstanding construction projects undertaken by AGC member firms, honoring excellence in craftsmanship, safety, innovation, and overall project execution. BlueOval SK Battery Park Kentucky's recognition reflects the exceptional coordination, scale, and complexity that Barton Malow, its trade partners, and subcontractor teams navigated to deliver this project. Barton Malow has a strong history with the Build America Award, with past winning projects including Little Caesars Arena, Notre Dame's Campus Crossroads, and Daytona International Speedway. This recognition adds to the project's growing list of honors. Earlier in 2025, the campus's GE2 plant earned the TAUC Joseph R. La Rocca Project of the Year Award for outstanding collaboration, craftsmanship, and safety.

Game-Day Ready: Wilmot Delivers Modular Facilities for Penn State's Beaver Stadium Renovation

Game-Day ready: Wilmot delivers modular facilities for Penn State's Beaver Stadium renovation. Posted by Wilmot Modular on October 7, 2025 When Penn State University embarked on renovations at Beaver Stadium, one of the most pressing challenges was ensuring that visiting football teams had compliant locker, shower, and training facilities for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. With strict NCAA requirements and limited space under the stadium structure, the university needed a partner that could deliver custom, high-quality facilities on an accelerated schedule. That's where Wilmot Modular Structures came in. The Challenge Penn State, working with the Barton Malow AECOM Hunt Alexander BMAHA Joint Venture, required temporary modular buildings to serve as locker rooms, training areas, and coaches' offices. The project demanded: * -Multi-section modular units capable of fitting under the stadium structure. * -NCAA and Big Ten compliance, with approvals secured before installation. * -Aggressive timelines - the buildings needed to be in place before the first home game, or Penn State's opener could not proceed. * -Flexibility to remove and reinstall the buildings between seasons. Its Solution Wilmot collaborated closely with BMAHA, Penn State, and the Big Ten to design, fabricate, and install custom modular facilities that met every requirement. * Building Configuration: * -(1) 24' x 64' Locker/Shower Room - built as (4) 12' x 30' modules, seamed end-to-end and side-by-side on site. * -(1) 12' x 60' Unit - shipped as (2) 12' x 30' modules, seamed end-to-end. * -(1) 10' x 44' Unit - providing additional support space. * Execution: * -Fast-tracked approvals with all stakeholders. * -Off-site fabrication for speed and efficiency. * -Seamless on-site assembly of multi-section modules. * -Coordinated logistics to meet strict stadium access limitations. The result: All facilities were delivered and installed one week ahead of schedule, ensuring Penn State's football season could begin on time. Key Features * -Custom multi-section design engineered to fit under stadium clearances. * -Integrated locker and shower rooms for visiting teams. * -Dedicated training and coaches' spaces with efficient layouts. * -Durable finishes designed for heavy athletic use. * -Quick-install modular construction with minimal site disruption. * -Relocatable design for use in multiple seasons. The Results Penn State received fully functional, NCAA-approved facilities ahead of deadline, avoiding disruption to their football season and ensuring compliance with league standards. By designing relocatable units, Wilmot also delivered a cost-effective, sustainable solution that will serve both the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Wilmot's Advantage This project demonstrates Wilmot's ability to deliver complex, high-stakes modular solutions under challenging site conditions and tight timelines. From sports facilities and stadiums to construction sites and corporate campuses, Wilmot has the expertise to design, build, and deliver modular spaces that keep projects moving forward.
