Dead by Daylight's first Indigenous Survivor "Shane" Out now. Standing Trial 3 hours ago Become a Member Today, developer Behaviour Interactive have launched their newest paid DLC Survivor "Shane Wiigwaas" for their asymmetrical horror title 'Dead by Daylight' across all platforms. An Anishinaabe defence attorney whose unwavering pursuit of justice drove him straight into The Fog, Shane becomes the game's first indigenous Survivor, bringing a powerful story, unique perspective, and versatile set of Perks to the game. Shane joins Dead by Daylight under the banner "The Life Road". Growing up in the Glass River First Nation, Shane Wiigwaas was driven by a simple belief: justice wasn't about punishment, but rather restoring balance. That conviction led him to become a defence attorney, advocating for First Nation clients and others in need. When Shane's cousin Derek was accused of murdering a police officer, the evidence seemed overwhelming despite Derek's insistence that the officer had vanished into a mysterious cloud of black fog. Though Shane believed the story, he urged his cousin to accept a plea deal - something Derek refused, determined to stand by the truth. The result was a life sentence without parole. A decision that would haunt Shane for the rest of his days. Leaving home, he travelled Turtle Rock on his motorcycle, helping others where XboxEra Ltd could, and searching for answers about the strange fog that had destroyed his cousin's life. His search led him to the Pacific Northwest where he set out to investigate the unexplained disappearance of a man named Jake Park. Shane ventured into the forest, to the spot of Jake's vanishing... and was never seen again. "To us, representation has always meant telling authentic stories and creating meaningful connections for players," shared Dave Richard, Senior Creative Director for Dead by Daylight. "Shane's is a perspective and culture XboxEra Ltd has never explored before in its game, and XboxEra Ltd is honoured to welcome its first indigenous Survivor into The Fog. It was also important for XboxEra Ltd to celebrate indigenous talent wherever possible, and so XboxEra Ltd is thrilled to have collaborated with an Anishinaabe artist on the Chapter's key art to help bring Shane's story to life." Shane arrives with three new character-specific Perks designed to reward bold decision-making, teamwork, and an assertive play style. Wide Open Throttle gives Shane the ability to gain a burst of Haste after Fast Vaulting a Pallet, while also resetting the Pallet and blocking it for a considerable duration. During this time, his teammates will be able to see the blocked Pallet's Aura. Cross-Examination brings new evidence to light, allowing Shane to see a trail of the Killer's Light Marks when inside their Terror Radius. Following the trail also provides a burst of Haste. Finally, Lend a Hand unlocks a special healing ability once per Trial when blessing or cleansing a Totem. Shane can activate the ability to give the teammate healing a small increase in permanent healing charges. Road Worn Every road leaves its mark, and Shane has travelled many over the course of his days. To celebrate his arrival in Dead by Daylight, The Life Road Collection launches with two Outfits inspired by the experiences that shaped him. Shane's Rare Law School Nights Outfit offers the casual comfort of a hoodie, joggers, and coloured braid wraps worn as a student earning his degree in Northern Ontario. His Very Rare Woodland Regalia Outfit, made together with his grandmother, delivers a more traditional look at his Anishinaabe roots. "As our first Indigenous character, we knew we needed to get Shane right," said Sarah Robinson, Associate Art Director on Dead by Daylight. "We've taken a lot of care to craft authentic and engaging cosmetics that ensure he proudly reps his Anishinaabe community and heritage. We're thrilled to bring Shane into the fog and hope players love him as much as we do!" Dead by Daylight is available across PC via Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles - featuring full cross-save and crossplay support. The game is also available as part of Xbox Game Pass's Premium and PlayStation Plus' Extra paths. The game is currently celebrating its ten-year anniversary, by the way, with lots of stuff and overhauls coming! Enjoying DayOne? Ice Nine Kills Slash Their Way To First Ever #1 At Active Rock Radio. ICE NINE KILLS Slash Their Way To First Ever #1 At Active Rock Radio With "TWISTING THE KNIFE (FEAT. MCKENNA GRACE)" Ice Nine Kills have officially claimed their first-ever #1 at Active Rock Radio with "Twisting The Knife (feat. Mckenna Grace)," the official song from the franchise-record-breaking horror film, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group's Scream 7. The milestone marks a killer new chapter for a track that has already cut deep across streaming, radio, and the wider INKverse."Twisting The Knife" surpassed 10 million cross-platform streams in its first week, topped Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, beating out one of rock's biggest bands, the Foo Fighters to the top spot, hit #1 on US YouTube's Current Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal Music Videos charts, and helped soundtrack Scream 7's record-breaking box office debut. Today, it becomes the first song written for the iconic franchise to hit #1 at radio. To date, "Twisting The Knife" has clocked up 32.2 million cross-platform streams. Speaking on the news, Ice Nine Kills frontman, Spencer Charnas shares "Scream has been and will always be a monumental influence on Mayhem Music Magazine, and the music has been every bit as important as the films themselves, starting with Marco Beltrami's brilliant score. The soundtrack to the original Scream was especially life-changing for me, from Birdbrain's 'Youth of America' and Soho's 'Whisper to a Scream' to, of course, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' iconic 'Red Right Hand.' Hearing those songs still takes me right back to that moment in time. To now be included among the songs that make up the legacy of this franchise is one of the greatest honors of its career. Equally meaningful is the opportunity to help bridge the worlds of rock music and horror cinema once again. That connection once felt central to both communities, but it has faded somewhat over the past couple of decades. Mayhem Music Magazine is proud to play even a small role in bringing those worlds back together." The #1 adds another weapon to an already formidable arsenal for Ice Nine Kills, whose recent horror franchise collaborations include "A Work of Art" from Terrifier 3, "Hell or High Slaughter (Grave Diggler: Pt. 2)" from Ready or Not 2: Here I Come and the recently announced inclusion of Spencer voicing a playable character in the highly anticipated official Halloween video game. Each release has pushed the band deeper into horror history, strengthening their place at the intersection of heavy music, cinematic world-building, and genre fandom. And the next scene is already set. During Dead By Daylight's 10th Anniversary Broadcast, Behaviour Interactive revealed a new collaboration with Ice Nine Kills. The band's Dead By Daylight-inspired track, "Play Dead" arrives this Friday, June 26th, bringing the INKverse into one of horror gaming's most beloved and successful releases. The achievement arrives at a time when Ice Nine Kills are operating on a scale few bands in modern heavy music can match. With more than 2 billion global streams, over 500 million YouTube views, sold-out tours across multiple continents, a 2.5-year run supporting Metallica in stadiums worldwide, major collaborations spanning Terrifier 3, Scream 7, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and now Dead By Daylight, the band continues to blur the line between music, horror, gaming, and cinema. "Twisting The Knife" becoming their first Active Rock Radio #1 is another milestone in a career that shows no signs of slowing down.

Blade Runner returns in 2027 with immersive experience. Published: [Stories about presence continue to be popular. As reported here by Polygon, the stories and world of the Blade Runner films and television series, which all originated in the Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, will return in an immersive experience. For more details see the press release via PR Newswire. In related news, SyFy reports that a new film version of Westworld is in the works. -Matthew] Blade Runner returns in 2027 with a new way to experience it Dry your eyes and experience new moments in North America this 2027 Behaviour Interactive is swapping scares for vaporware in 2027, partnering with extended reality (XR) company PHI Studio to announce a new and immersive Blade Runner experience. Behaviour and PHI Studios, both based in Quebec, have secured rights to the Blade Runner IP from Alcon Entertainment, the IP's holder. Alcon will be a key partner, and the three companies will build a "multisensory experience" that will provide visitors with striking visuals and a narratively rich story. The collaboration will combine the creative and technical strengths of Behavior with PHI Studio's expertise in using XR technology to blend physical and virtual worlds. XR encompasses a spectrum of digital technologies, including augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality (VR), to create immersive experiences and extend human perception by engaging multiple senses. For Behaviour, best known for its asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, the collaboration is a big step away from its place in the world of video games. "Blade Runner is a work that has shaped the collective imagination," Behaviour said in a news release. "We are honored to collaborate with Alcon Entertainment and PHI Studio to deliver an experience that pushes the boundaries of immersion. This project also marks a new chapter in Behaviour's positioning beyond video games." Blade Runner is known for its beautiful aesthetic and world-building, as well as its strong, philosophical storytelling that has enraptured fans since 1982. Behaviour has proven adept at tackling diverse storytelling methods in its previous video games, and PHI Studio is well-regarded for pushing boundaries with its technology. Let's hope it's a match made in heaven, otherwise all those cool moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain. While a specific release date for the experience has yet to be announced, the project is set to debut in several North American cities starting in 2027. In other Blade Runner news, Blade Runner 2099, an original series for Amazon Prime, is also set to premiere in 2027.
