Sandra West ALS Foundation announces winners of the Fall 2026 Scholarship supporting students impacted by ALS.

Sandra West ALS Foundation announces winners of the Fall 2026 Scholarship supporting students impacted by ALS. Behind every ALS diagnosis is a family doing their best to stay strong. Its foundation is here to stand with them, shoulder to shoulder." - Sandra West NORTH CHARLESTON, SC, SC, UNITED STATES, July 21, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / - The Sandra West ALS Foundation, in partnership with Bold.org, is proud to announce the recipients of the Fall 2026 Sandra West ALS Foundation Scholarship. This semi-annual award recognizes outstanding students who have been personally affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and who demonstrate resilience, academic excellence, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. The scholarship was created to honor the legacy of Sandra West, whose life was marked by courage, compassion, and a determination to support families navigating the challenges of ALS. Through this program, the Foundation aims to ease financial barriers for students who have experienced the emotional, financial, and caregiving burdens associated with the disease. 2026 Scholarship Winners Niagara Millen - Mercyhurst University - $10,000 Niagara was selected as a Sandra West ALS Foundation Scholarship recipient because she embodies everything this scholarship was created to recognize. Like Sandy, Niagara understands firsthand the devastating impact ALS has on an entire family, having lost her own mother to this cruel disease. Rather than allowing that loss to define her, she has chosen to honor her mother's legacy through perseverance, academic excellence, advocacy, and a commitment to a future in healthcare. Her heartfelt essay reminded International World Times that this scholarship is about far more than financial assistance - it is about ensuring that families affected by ALS know they are seen, supported, and never forgotten. Niagara also holds a special place in its hearts because she has embraced Sandra's legacy as if it were her own, continuing to raise awareness, participate in ALS fundraising efforts, and inspire others with her resilience. International World Times is honored to continue supporting her journey and know that she will carry forward the compassion, hope, and determination that Sandy lived every day. Delaney Minor - Wofford College - $5,000 Delaney was selected as a Sandra West ALS Foundation Scholarship recipient because her story reflects the resilience, determination, and servant-hearted spirit that Sandy admired so deeply. As a Division I student-athlete with outstanding academic achievement, Delaney immediately reminded International World Times of Sandy's daughter, Avery, whose own journey as a Division I athlete was marked by perseverance and character. While balancing the demands of collegiate athletics, recovering from a serious ACL injury, and maintaining academic excellence, Delaney has also faced the unimaginable challenge of her father's ALS diagnosis. Rather than allowing adversity to define her, she has stepped forward as a leader - supporting her family, organizing ALS awareness and fundraising efforts, and using her experiences to serve others. Her commitment to honoring her father while pursuing her education embodies the very purpose of this scholarship. International World Times is confident Delaney will continue to inspire those around her and make a lasting impact, carrying forward the same courage, compassion, and perseverance that Sandy demonstrated throughout her own ALS journey. The winners were selected from a competitive pool of over 450 applicants nationwide, all of whom shared powerful stories of perseverance and hope in the face of ALS. Statement from the Sandra West ALS Foundation "Supporting students who have been touched by ALS is central to our mission," said Michael West, President. "These remarkable young women's have shown strength beyond their years, and we are honored to help them pursue their dreams while carrying forward my wife's legacy." Khalil Mack invests $270,400 in 52 Florida students through new bold.org scholarship program.

Khalil Mack invests $270,400 in 52 Florida students through new bold.org scholarship program. The Khalil Mack Foundation will award $5,200 scholarships to 52 students across Florida, investing in the state's next generation of leaders. June 01, 2026 Bold.org, the scholarship platform committed to fighting student debt through philanthropy, is proud to partner with NFL star Khalil Mack and the Khalil Mack Foundation to launch the Khalil Mack 52 Scholars Program. Inspired by Mack's iconic No. 52 jersey, the program will award $5,200 scholarships to 52 Florida students, providing a total of $270,400 in educational support. The idea for the program was developed by Mack and his wife, Brianna, who envisioned extending the significance of his jersey number beyond the football field by supporting 52 students with $5,200 each. Both Mack and his wife have deep roots in Florida. Mack was born and raised in Fort Pierce, while Brianna grew up in Carol City in Miami Gardens. Their experiences have given them a personal understanding of the talent and potential found throughout the state, as well as the financial barriers that can prevent young people from accessing educational opportunities. Through the Khalil Mack Foundation, the couple is investing directly in students who demonstrate resilience, leadership, and a commitment to their communities. The scholarship is designed to help students pursue college, university, and career-training opportunities while reducing the financial pressure that can accompany higher education. The 52 Scholars Program reflects the determination and perseverance that have defined Mack's journey, from an under-the-radar high school recruit to one of the most accomplished defensive players of his generation. Through this initiative, Mack is using the platform he has built to create opportunities for students in the state that helped shape him. Speaking about his motivation for launching the program, Mack shared: It's been on my mind to do it for a long time. I just want to spread some kind of positivity back home. Mack also emphasized the importance of reaching students who may not otherwise have access to meaningful support. I'm from a city where a lot of kids don't get a lot of those opportunities. Knowing where my wife comes from as well, Bold.org, Inc know there are kids throughout Florida who need that support. Bold.org CEO and Founder Dror Liebenthal shares: Khalil and Brianna Mack are turning a deeply personal commitment to Florida into life-changing opportunities for 52 students. This program does more than provide financial support. It recognizes the resilience, leadership, and potential of young people who are already making a difference in their communities. Bold.org, Inc is proud to partner with the Khalil Mack Foundation to help remove barriers to education and bring this extraordinary investment in Florida's next generation to life. Scholarship details. The Khalil Mack 52 Scholars Program is open to African American students living in Florida who demonstrate resilience, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. Eligible applicants must be high school seniors, undergraduate students, or students enrolled in a trade or vocational program and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need. Fifty-two students will each receive a $5,200 scholarship, for a total of $270,400 in educational support.
