Salesforce is hiring the team behind calendar app Clockwise to work on its Agentforce AI platform, though the company clarified it is not acquiring Clockwise or its technology. Clockwise will shut down on 27 March, with all services discontinued and user data deleted. Clockwise CEO Matt Martin announced the move on LinkedIn, stating the team would bring expertise in "building reliable, agentic software" to Salesforce. Martin previously worked at Salesforce between 2014 and 2016 before co-founding Clockwise with Gary Lerhaupt. Lerhaupt left Clockwise last year and now serves as vice president of product architecture for Agentforce at Salesforce. The Clockwise team will focus on agent interoperability and orchestration within Agentforce. Clockwise is recommending users migrate to rival scheduler Reclaim and processing refunds for prepaid services.
Salesforce has acquired AI calendar startup Clockwise and is shutting down the product on 27 March 2026, giving users approximately one week to migrate. The shutdown affects eight million hours of Focus Time blocks, 23 million optimised meetings and thousands of enterprise customers. Clockwise raised $76 million across funding rounds, including $45 million in Series C led by Coatue in January 2022. Founded in 2016 by Gary Lerhaupt, Matt Martin and Mike Grinolds—all former RelateIQ employees—the company is now returning to Salesforce, which acquired RelateIQ for $390 million in 2014. The acquisition follows the classic acqui-hire pattern, with Salesforce absorbing talent rather than continuing the product. Clockwise has partnered with Reclaim.ai for user migration, though Reclaim.ai itself was acquired by Dropbox in August 2024.
London-based coworking company Clockwise recently appointed Greg Miley as chief commercial officer (CCO).
"These findings demystify much of the conventional 'one-size-fits-most' wisdom about productivity and schedule management, proving that instituting broad-sweeping rules around scheduling in the workplace simply doesn't work," said Matt Martin, co-founder and CEO at Clockwise. Post thisKey FindingsClockwise's Workplace Scheduling Report uncovers six core insights about how professionals approach their workday.Personal commitments significantly shape work schedules. External factors like commute times, childcare obligations, and personal commitments emerged as key determinants of fixed availability and schedule boundaries that must be considered and integrated into the workday.Everyone craves focused work time, but in different ways. The desire for uninterrupted deep work is prevalent (eighty-eight percent of Clockwise users aim to schedule 5+ hours of Focus Time per week), though how people implement it varies considerably. Duration preferences range from 30 minutes to several hours, with timing based on personal energy patterns and priorities throughout the day.Workday preferences are as unique as individuals themselves. While the vast majority of people surveyed desire more time for focused work in the morning hours, the way that time is spent varies widely based on individual energy levels, work demands, and lifestyle factors
