CodeSignal provides an AI-native platform for assessing and developing technical talent, primarily for B2B customers. It offers tools to pre-screen, screen, and interview candidates, plus upskilling through CodeSignal Learn. The platform uses data-driven, real-world simulations and a standardized coding score to evaluate developer abilities, aiming to reduce hiring bias and save engineering time. It differentiates itself with features like Cosmo, an AI assistant that creates assessments and offers tutoring, and a focus on objective, skills-based hiring beyond resumes. The goal is to help companies hire more effectively, diversify their engineering pipelines, and support talent mobility by providing consistent, automatable evaluations for technical roles.

CodeSignal welcomes Chris Kibarian to its board of directors. SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - CodeSignal, the leading AI-native skills intelligence platform, today announced that Chris Kibarian has joined its board of directors. Kibarian brings deep experience across the human capital management space, from labor market intelligence to talent acquisition and workforce development. He currently serves as CEO of International SOS, a leader in health and security risk services. Before that, he spent years as CEO of Lightcast, a labor market intelligence platform used by enterprises, educators, and public institutions. Earlier in his career, he led digital ventures at Randstad, overseeing platforms including Monster and RiseSmart. "Most companies are still measuring performance the same way they did a decade ago, even as the skills that matter keep shifting," said Kibarian. "Without a rigorous way to measure and validate what people can do, everything else - how you hire, develop, and retain people - is guesswork. CodeSignal understood from day one that skills assessments have to be the foundation." "Chris has spent much of his career making sense of how skills and labor markets move," said Tigran Sloyan, CEO and co-founder of CodeSignal. "That perspective is exactly what we need right now as we build new ways to help leaders re-evaluate, measure, and grow the in-demand skills of their teams in the AI era." Kibarian's appointment reflects CodeSignal's continued growth across enterprise hiring and workforce development, with customers spanning industries from tech and financial services to retail, healthcare, and more. About CodeSignal. CodeSignal is the AI-native skills intelligence platform on a mission to discover and develop the skills that will shape the future. Built on the belief that skills should define opportunity, CodeSignal helps organizations objectively measure what people can really do and turn that insight into action - hiring stronger teams, closing skills gaps, and helping employees grow. Grounded in rigorous assessment science, the platform spans the full talent lifecycle. From hiring assessments and AI interviews to hands-on skills development and measuring real work, CodeSignal helps you make skills-first decisions for your organization. With millions of skills assessments completed and the trust of companies like Capital One, Meta, and Dropbox, CodeSignal has become the standard for measuring what people can do.
CodeSignal has expanded its AI literacy assessment library to help organisations measure workforce AI capabilities across business and technical roles. The AI-native skills intelligence platform offers assessments spanning sales, finance, product design, and engineering through realistic workplace scenarios. The assessments evaluate how employees apply AI tools to actual job tasks, rather than testing theoretical knowledge. They measure applied fluency, appropriate tool selection, critical evaluation of AI outputs, and recognising when human judgment is required instead of AI. Nearly two-thirds of global businesses have already delivered AI training to employees, whilst jobs requiring AI skills are growing nearly eight times faster than the overall market. CodeSignal's assessments are validated by industrial-organisational psychologists and audited for bias. The company's platform is used by Capital One, Meta, and Dropbox, with millions of skills assessments completed.
CodeSignal has launched AI-native authoring capabilities in CodeSignal Learn, allowing teams to create hands-on work simulations from existing materials in minutes. The feature uses Cosmo, CodeSignal's AI agent, to transform learning content into job-relevant practice across coding, conversations, whiteboards, spreadsheets and writing. The technology addresses skills retention challenges, leveraging research showing hands-on practice achieves 75% retention versus 20-50% for video. Cosmo generates practice scenarios, delivers real-time feedback and acts as a role-play partner across various professional roles, from sales negotiations to software engineering challenges. Built on a decade of skills science grounded in industrial-organisational psychology, the platform allows administrators to refine scenarios before publishing. Learners can also request on-demand practice. CodeSignal is trusted by Netflix, Capital One, Meta and Dropbox.
CodeSignal has launched agentic coding assessments, designed to evaluate engineers' ability to work with AI coding tools. The move reflects a significant shift in software development, according to a March 2026 survey of 450 US software engineers. The survey found that 91% of engineers now use agentic AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor in their work, whilst 75% have shipped production code partially or primarily AI-generated in the past six months. Additionally, 73% believe engineers who don't adopt these tools risk becoming less competitive. The new assessments require candidates to extract requirements, use agentic AI tools to build solutions, and explain their technical decisions. Over the past six months, tens of thousands of candidates have completed CodeSignal's AI-assisted coding assessments, with roughly one-third of customers adopting the format during 2025.
