What believers are saying

  • Devin Security Swarm identifies 36 of 50 real-world vulnerabilities at 30% lower cost per finding than competitors
  • Cognition's $1B funding at $26B valuation reflects strong market demand with revenue doubling to $492M in eight months
  • Devin delivers 8x efficiency and 20x cost savings for clients like Nubank in large-scale monolithic codebase refactoring

What critics are saying

  • Devin's 13.86% real task success rate from evaluations like Answer.AI will trigger high customer churn within 6-12 months
  • Microsoft GitHub Copilot integration offers cheaper seamless augmentation directly displacing Devin within 12-18 months with high impact
  • GPU and ASIC capacity constraints along rising chip prices will stall large-scale enterprise deployments limiting ARR growth

What makes Cognition unique

  • Devin operates as a fully autonomous agent planning and executing multi-step tasks end-to-end unlike code completion copilots
  • Devin achieves 13.86% resolution on SWE-bench real GitHub issues far exceeding prior unassisted baselines of 1.96%
