Curology

Custom-formula skincare delivered by subscription

Overview

Curology provides personalized skincare solutions through a direct-to-consumer online service. It creates custom skincare formulas tailored to each user’s skin needs by having them complete an online questionnaire and upload skin photos. Dermatology providers review the data and write a unique formula that is shipped to the customer, along with ongoing dermatology support. The product works by delivering a customized prescription-like cream or serum for each individual, rather than a one-size-fits-all product. Curology differentiates itself from competitors by offering a fully personalized, subscription-based experience, with continuous access to dermatology providers and a process built around tailoring treatments to acne, dark spots, and uneven skin tone. The company’s goal is to improve individual skin health through convenient, personalized care that fits into a regular monthly plan and provides trial access to new customers.

"Curology was founded in 2014 to close that gap by making personalized, effective skincare accessible, and teaming up with Walmart makes that mission even stronger." "Derm Deserts" "Dermatologist deserts" are regions with fewer than four dermatologists per 100,000 residents, according to data published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD). Curology's DayPrimeRx combines acne care, makeup prep into one

Curology's DayPrimeRx combines acne care, makeup prep into one. DayPrimeRx is a dermatologist-developed product that blurs imperfections and fights breakouts with prescription active ingredients, the brand shared. Skin care brand Curology recently launched a new daytime acne treatment that also features the benefits of a primer. DayPrimeRx is a dermatologist-developed product that blurs imperfections while also fighting breakouts with prescription active ingredients, the brand shared. "DayPrimeRx solves one of the most vexing challenges in beauty and skincare - the fact that acne treatments don't often layer well under makeup, forcing people to choose between cover and treat," said Dr. Whitney Tolpinrud, MD, FAAD, board-certified dermatologist and medical director at Curology. "DayPrimeRx eliminates that choice, giving patients one product that immediately blurs the skin, treats skin with prescription actives over time, and holds makeup in place for up to 12 hours thereby maximizing results and minimizing effort." DayPrimeRx features a hybrid formula that combines three active ingredients to target each individual's unique skin goals, including acne, dark spots and rosacea, among others. It also blurs imperfections, minimizes the look of pores and evens out skin texture. In addition, the product also holds makeup in place for up to 12 hours, the brand shared. Lastly, DayPrimeRx is designed to pair with nighttime acne treatments such as Curology's Custom FormulaRx, unlocking prescription-powered acne treatment 24/7. Consumers can purchase DayPrimeRx online at Curology.com by subscription.
