Worldline in talks to sell New Zealand payments unit to Cuscal for $19M

Worldline has entered exclusive discussions with Cuscal to sell its New Zealand payments operations for approximately €17 million on an enterprise basis. The unit handles roughly 70% of in-store payments in New Zealand and works with all four major acquirers and around 40 issuers. The disposal is part of Worldline's strategy to focus on European payments activities whilst simplifying operations. The New Zealand business is expected to generate about €35 million in revenue and €12 million in adjusted EBITDA. Net cash proceeds from previously announced disposals, including this transaction, are expected to total €560 million to €610 million and should be received in 2026. The sale is expected to complete in the second quarter of 2026. Citigroup served as sole financial adviser to Worldline.
