DataDome, a bot and agent trust management company, has appointed Pradheep Sampath as chief product officer. Sampath brings expertise in identity, authentication and fraud prevention, having previously helped protect over $200 billion in digital transactions. The appointment comes as AI agents increasingly handle transactions autonomously, driving demand for DataDome's trust infrastructure spanning bot detection through fraud prevention. Sampath will lead the company's product vision and strategy, focusing on end-to-end journey optimisation and protection for agentic commerce. Sampath joins from Entersekt, where he served as chief product officer leading authentication and fraud prevention solutions. He previously held the same role at ID.me during its hypergrowth phase. DataDome was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave for Bot Management in 2024.

More than 40% of corporate fraud is now AI-driven, designed to mimic real users, bypass traditional defenses and scale at speeds that overwhelm even the best-equipped SOCs.In 2024, nearly 90% of enterprises were targeted, and half of them lost $10 million or more.Bots emulate human behavior and create entire emulation frameworks, synthetic identities, and behavioral spoofing to pull off account takeovers at scale while slipping past legacy firewalls, EDR tools, and siloed fraud detection systems.Attackers weaponize AI to create bots that evade, mimic, and scaleAttackers aren’t wasting any time capitalizing on using AI to weaponize bots in new ways. Last year, malicious bots comprised 24% of all internet traffic, with 49% classified as ‘advanced bots’ designed to mimic human behavior and execute complex interactions, including account takeovers (ATO).Over 60% of account takeover (ATO) attempts in 2024 were initiated by bots, capable of breaching a victim’s credentials in real time using emulation frameworks that mimic human behavior. Attacker’s tradecraft now reflects the ability to combine weaponized AI and behavioral attack techniques into a single bot strategy. That’s proving to be a lethal combination for many enterprises already battling malicious bots whose intrusion attempts often aren’t captured by existing apps and tools in security operations centers (SOCs).Malicious bot attacks force SOC teams into firefighting mode with little or no warning, depending on the legacy of their security tech stack.“Once amassed by a threat actor, they can be weaponized,” Ken Dunham, director of the threat research unit at Qualys recently said. “Bots have incredible resources and capabilities to perform anonymous, distributed, asynchronous attacks against targets of choice, such as brute force credential attacks, distributed denial of service attacks, vulnerability scans, attempted exploitation and more.”From fan frenzy to fraud surface: bots corner the market for Taylor Swift tickets Bots are the virtual version of attackers who can scale to millions of attempts per second to attack a targeted enterprise and increasingly high-profile events, including concerts of well-known entertainers, such as Taylor Swift.Datadome observes that the worldwide popularity of Taylor Swift’s concerts creates the ROI attackers are looking for to build ticket bots that automate what scalpers do at scale
DataDome announced $42 million in Series C funding, led by InfraVia Capital, to enhance its fight against bot-driven cyberattacks and online fraud. The company uses AI-powered software to analyze trillions of data points daily, protecting clients like Allegro, Helly Hansen, SoundCloud, and Reddit. DataDome's detection engine can identify and block malicious requests in under two milliseconds with a false positive rate of less than 0.01%.
Report Notes that DataDome is Expanding Beyond Bot Mitigation to Broader, Anti-Fraud Platform with Addition of Ad Protect & Account ProtectNEW YORK, July 1, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- DataDome , a leading AI-powered online fraud and bot management platform, is proud to announce it has been recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Bot Management Software, Q3 2024. DataDome received the highest score possible in nine criteria, including detection models, partner ecosystem, and more. In its analysis, Forrester evaluated 11 total vendors in the bot mitigation space based on high-level criteria grouped by current offering, strategy and market presence in order to help customers select the right provider for their needs.Notably, DataDome received a 5/5 score, which Forrester defines as "superior," in the detection models criterion. DataDome's ability to analyze 5 trillion signals daily with multiple layers of machine learning ensures unparalleled accuracy in distinguishing between malicious traffic and genuine user interactions. What's more, DataDome's enterprise platform does not come at the expense of usability and implementation. With 50+ integrations , DataDome runs anywhere, in any cloud; it is compatible with all major web technologies, including multi-cloud and multi-CDN setups, and is installed within minutes."We are thrilled to be recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Bot Management Software report. For us, this achievement underscores our relentless commitment to protecting our customers, and proves that the best enterprise cyberfraud platform does not have to come at the expense of ease of use," said Benjamin Fabre , co-founder and CEO of DataDome
Unparalleled Detection Accuracy and Seamless User Experience For Websites and Mobile Applications Frustrates Fraudsters, Not Legitimate UsersNEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- DataDome , a leading provider of AI-powered online fraud and bot management, today announced it is taking its bot protection offerings to a whole new level by enabling a new challenge response for customers, called Device Check. This invisible challenge works behind the scenes, validating device-specific signals with proofs of work – all without prompting any visible interaction with end users.Device Check excels in identifying even the most advanced and evasive bots right from their initial requests. Unlike traditional security measures that may only catch bots after repeated suspicious behavior, Device Check's advanced algorithms are finely tuned to spot telltale signs of automation and malicious intent. It analyzes device-specific signals in real-time such as requestor environment, automation framework usage, or any bot cloaking techniques, and enforces device-level proofs-of-work via JS challenges, thereby substantially increasing detection accuracy and further reducing the frequency of visual CAPTCHAs. For one early access customer, a luxury brand retailer, DataDome was able to reduce the false positive rate by an order of magnitude, thanks to Device Check's ability to block bots from the first request."Bot attacks continue to grow in sophistication, and can easily mimic human behavior or circumvent CAPTCHAs. This fact, combined with user frustration over traditional CAPTCHAs, is precisely why enterprises need a new approach that pairs robust bot security with frictionless user experiences," said Benjamin Fabre, co-founder and CEO of DataDome
