Dechert ranked among top law firms for pro bono work by The American Lawyer. Dechert has been ranked number three internationally and number seven in the United States in The American Lawyer's annual Pro Bono Scorecard, according to a July 16 announcement. The Pro Bono Scorecard evaluates the 200 largest U.S. law firms based on average pro bono hours per lawyer and the percentage of lawyers performing more than 20 hours of pro bono work annually. Dechert has held a spot among the top three internationally for eleven consecutive years and has been in the U.S. top ten for nine out of the last ten years. This recognition comes after other recent honors, including receiving the National Legal Aid & Defender Association's 2026 Beacon of Justice Award. "At Dechert, commitment to our communities is one of our longest-standing values," said Co-chair Dave Forti. "The scope of our pro bono efforts is remarkable, ranging from representing prisoners of conscience to preparing tax returns in remote Alaskan villages, supporting military veterans, advocating for housing and much more." Dechert LLP has appointed Leahana Grimley as a partner in its corporate and securities practice at its San Francisco office. Grimley specialises in private equity M&A, focusing on middle and upper middle-market transactions. She advises private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on leveraged acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings and equity arrangements.
