Israeli AI startup Dream is planning Latin American expansion following a $260 million funding round that valued the company at $3 billion. The round was led by Bicycle Capital and Group 11. The Tel Aviv-based company, which provides national cyber defence and AI platforms for governments, aims to open a regional office within weeks. Co-founder Shalev Hulio cited recent election victories by Trump-aligned leaders across the region as creating favourable conditions. Possible locations include Bogotá, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. Latin America has become the fastest-growing region for cyber attacks according to World Bank research, whilst remaining the least protected. Recent high-profile incidents include a 2022 ransomware attack in Costa Rica that forced a national emergency declaration. Dream is already assisting some regional countries facing cyber attacks.
