Alphatechs USA is unveiling new Bluetooth school cafeteria pin pads and scanners at SNA ANC 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company will showcase Bluetooth versions of its AlphaPad pin pad and AlphaScan scanner combo at booth 1747. The new AlphaPad-BT and AlphaScan-BT feature Bluetooth 5.2 and are compatible with Windows, MacOS, iPads, iPhones, Android devices, Chromebooks and Microsoft Surface. According to founder and CEO Chris Fructus, the wireless versions provide greater flexibility for busy cafeteria environments. The Southern California-based company also offers USB versions and stand-alone barcode scanners. All devices are FCC-approved, assembled in the US, and come with a three-year warranty and price match guarantee. The products work with all US and Canadian school cafeteria point-of-sale software.
Western Standard disclosed in an SEC filing that it sold 1,232,881 shares of Alphatec Holdings during the first quarter, an estimated $17.95 million trade based on quarterly average pricing. Following the sale, Alphatec represents 0.13% of Western Standard's reported US equity assets. The disclosure came shortly before Alphatec reported disappointing first-quarter results. Revenue reached $192 million, up 14% year-over-year but missing analyst projections by approximately 4%. Surgical revenue climbed 17% and case volumes increased 21%, whilst adjusted EBITDA hit $21 million with expanding margins. Alphatec Holdings, a Carlsbad, California-based medical equipment company, reported a first-quarter loss of $33.9 million, or 22 cents per share. Adjusted earnings came to less than one cent per share. The company posted revenue of $192.1 million, missing analyst expectations of $199.6 million from four analysts surveyed by Zacks.
