How our collaboration with ELATEC powers smarter time and attendance.

How our collaboration with ELATEC powers smarter time and attendance. When you deploy a time and attendance terminal, you're making a long-term investment. The last thing you want is for that hardware to become obsolete because your organization's credentials have changed, or because you've taken on a new site running a different card technology from your own. That's a challenge GT Clocks has solved by collaborating with ELATEC, the global leader in multi-technology RFID readers, to integrate their reader technology into our GT series timeclocks. Why ELATEC? GT Clocks has always built terminals designed to last. Our GT series devices are engineered for continuous use in demanding, high-traffic environments, and we expect them to still be working effectively years after installation. That means the components inside them need to meet the same standard. ELATEC's multi-technology readers are the benchmark in their field. Their TWN4 reader family supports more than 60 RFID transponder technologies simultaneously, covering legacy low-frequency (125 kHz) proximity cards right through to modern high-frequency (13.56 MHz) smart cards, NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy credentials. Their OEM modules are designed specifically for integration into third-party hardware, making them a natural fit for our GT terminals. Equally important is ELATEC's approach to software. Their readers are remotely configurable and updatable, which means a terminal can adapt to a new credential type in the field, without any physical intervention. That kind of longevity matters enormously to our customers. "We're always looking for technology partners who share our commitment to longevity and real-world reliability. ELATEC's multi-technology readers mean our customers aren't buying a terminal that works today and needs replacing the moment their credential strategy evolves. That flexibility is something our customers increasingly expect, and it's something we're proud to deliver." - David Hembery, Senior Product Manager, GT Clocks What does a multi-technology reader actually do? In a timeclock, the proximity reader is the component that identifies an employee when they present their card or fob. A standard reader is configured to recognize one card technology, so if your organization uses 125 kHz proximity cards, that's all it reads. A multi-technology reader removes that constraint entirely. Because ELATEC's reader can simultaneously support a wide range of protocols, a single GT timeclock installed on your shopfloor or at your site entrance can accept: * Legacy 125 kHz proximity cards * MIFARE Classic, DESFire and other 13.56 MHz smart card formats * HID iClass and comparable secure credential technologies * NFC-enabled smartphones, allowing contactless clocking via a mobile device For organizations managing multiple sites, going through a card migration, or simply wanting to keep their options open, this makes a significant practical difference. The benefits for your business. Protecting your hardware investment is the most immediate benefit. When your credential infrastructure changes, and for most organizations, it will at some point, your terminals don't need to change with it. The ELATEC reader adapts. For multi-site businesses, this is particularly valuable. Different locations often run different card systems, the legacy of separate procurement decisions or acquisitions over the years. A GT Clocks timeclock with a multi-tech reader works across all of them, without any need to standardize credentials first. There's also a growing case for touchless clocking. Whether driven by hygiene considerations or a move towards mobile-first working practices, NFC credential support means employees can punch in and out with their phone - a capability that's built in, not bolted on. Finally, remote configurability simplifies life for IT and facilities teams. If a new credential protocol needs to be supported, it can be updated over-the-air via our GTConnect platform across a fleet of terminals, with no engineer visits required. Available across the GT range. The ELATEC multi-technology reader is available as an option across our timeclock range. The GT4 Our Linux-based timeclock designed for demanding environments, supports the multi-tech reader alongside its alphanumeric keypad and optional fingerprint biometric. The GT8 & GT10 Our Android-powered terminals with large color touchscreens, facial recognition and self-service HR functionality, also support the multi-tech reader option for organizations that want the broadest possible credential compatibility alongside advanced biometric clocking. Whichever terminal best fits your environment, the multi-tech reader means your credential infrastructure is one less thing to worry about.

ELATEC Introduces DevPack 5.07:A Major Leap Forward in RFID Reader Management and Mobile Integration

ELATEC introduces DevPack 5.07:A major leap forward in RFID reader Management and mobile integration. Puchheim, November 18, 2025 - ELATEC, a leading manufacturer of access technologies, specializing in RFID readers and credentials, has released its latest software development toolkit, TWN4 DevPack 5.07. The new version delivers faster performance, stronger security and greater flexibility for configuring and managing RFID readers, enabling flexible and future-proof access solutions. "With every DevPack release, our goal is to make life easier for developers, system integrators and end users," said Tobias Rasche, Global Head of Product Management of ELATEC GmbH. "Version 5.07 takes another big step forward by combining deeper diagnostics, broader mobile credential support and open-standard interoperability, all in one powerful package. With this evolution, our DevPack is now more than a development toolkit - it's a comprehensive framework for building secure, flexible, and future-ready authentication solutions." Future-Proof Mobile and Security Capabilities DevPack 5.07 expands ELATEC's support for modern mobile ecosystems, giving developers more ways to deliver seamless, secure, and flexible authentication experiences. Built-in integration for Orange PackID, Transact and AccessGrid eliminates extra setup steps, simplifying deployment of mobile ID solutions for campuses, workplaces and customer loyalty programs. New Bluetooth(R) capabilities enable developers to create fully customized mobile ID experiences and integrate ELATEC readers effortlessly into existing apps and ecosystems. The release also introduces support for PKOC (Public Key Open Credential): an open, vendor-neutral standard that aligns perfectly with ELATEC's agnostic reader philosophy. PKOC gives customers maximum freedom of choice and stronger protection through asymmetric cryptography, creating a more resilient foundation for future-ready access systems. Additional enhancements include a new API for MIFARE DESFire EV2/EV3 cards, giving developers greater flexibility in advanced security and feature integration. The PIN-after-card option enables two-factor authentication (2FA) with a well-defined authentication process in physical access (PAC) environments. It is designed for use with wall readers featuring keypads, such as the Secustos. Together, these updates simplify mobile credential deployment while raising the bar for security and interoperability across diverse applications. DevPack 5.07 gives developers and integrators faster insight into reader performance, greater control over configuration and dramatically shorter update cycles. The result: quicker rollouts, easier troubleshooting and lower maintenance costs across even the most complex deployments. * Enhanced Tracer diagnostics: Deeper transponder analysis and broader technology support - including HID DESFire EV3 and SEOS - enable faster, more accurate troubleshooting and performance validation. * Compact OSDP configuration updates: The new configuration update cuts time for updates over OSDP by a factor of 10 or greater, minimizes bandwidth requirements and reduces downtime. * Wiegand configuration via AppBlaster: Expanded options for Secustos and TWN4 Palon readers simplify migration from legacy Wiegand to secure OSDP systems. These improvements make DevPack 5.07 a more powerful, efficient toolkit for building and managing RFID systems from setup through long-term maintenance. "The new DevPack gives our partners the freedom to innovate within a secure, open and future-ready framework," said Gerhard Burits, CEO of ELATEC GmbH. "It's a perfect example of our philosophy: simplify what's complex, protect what matters and prepare for what's next." The TWN4 DevPack 5.07 release represents ELATEC's continued investment in flexibility, interoperability and developer empowerment, making it easier than ever to design and maintain secure, scalable RFID and mobile access solutions across industries.
