Feather provides furniture rental services aimed at urban residents and businesses looking for flexible and sustainable furnishing options. Customers can choose from a carefully selected range of high-quality furniture to rent, which allows them to furnish their spaces without the long-term commitment of buying. The rental process operates on a subscription model, where customers pay monthly fees for the furniture they use. Feather stands out from competitors by offering additional services such as delivery, assembly, and pickup, making the process convenient for users. The company's goal is to promote a sharing economy that reduces waste and encourages a more sustainable lifestyle.

German startup Feather has raised €6 million to expand its insurance platform for expats across Europe. The company aims to simplify the fragmented insurance market by offering tailored recommendations for health, life, pet, automotive, and personal liability insurance. The funding round saw participation from notable investors, including former founders of GoCardless, Monzo, N26, and Wise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus. Lead investor Keen Venture Partners approached Feather, highlighting the platform's appeal to expats.
Fernish in 2019 announced a partnership with Alliance Residential in which consumers could see what the company's products would look like in spaces they may actually live in.
Fernish and Feather were acquired by Vesta, a luxury design studio that offers furnished rentals, home staging, interior design services and custom furniture manufacturing, which is also under the Showroom umbrella.
Vesta, known for its work shown on Million Dollar Listing and other real estate reality shows, is aiming to broaden its reach by adding the Feather and Fernish companies.
In 2020, Feather, a rental furniture company based in the U.S., obtained $30 million in Series B financing from Credit Suisse Group AG, a move aimed at expanding its product and service offerings on a global scale.
