Feather offers a furniture rental service for homes and offices. Customers pay a monthly fee to rent a curated selection of high-quality furniture, with delivery, assembly, and pickup included. The system works on a subscription model: you choose furniture, pay monthly rent, and Feather handles delivery and when you’re done, pickup and return of items. This approach lets people furnish spaces without owning items and makes it easy to swap pieces as needs change. Feather differentiates itself by combining a carefully chosen assortment of furniture with convenient end-to-end service and a focus on sustainability, aiming to reduce waste through sharing rather than ownership. Its goal is to make it simple and affordable to furnish urban spaces while promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.

German startup Feather has raised €6 million to expand its insurance platform for expats across Europe. The company aims to simplify the fragmented insurance market by offering tailored recommendations for health, life, pet, automotive, and personal liability insurance. The funding round saw participation from notable investors, including former founders of GoCardless, Monzo, N26, and Wise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus. Lead investor Keen Venture Partners approached Feather, highlighting the platform's appeal to expats.
Fernish in 2019 announced a partnership with Alliance Residential in which consumers could see what the company's products would look like in spaces they may actually live in.
Fernish and Feather were acquired by Vesta, a luxury design studio that offers furnished rentals, home staging, interior design services and custom furniture manufacturing, which is also under the Showroom umbrella.
Vesta, known for its work shown on Million Dollar Listing and other real estate reality shows, is aiming to broaden its reach by adding the Feather and Fernish companies.
In 2020, Feather, a rental furniture company based in the U.S., obtained $30 million in Series B financing from Credit Suisse Group AG, a move aimed at expanding its product and service offerings on a global scale.
