Genesis

Maps soil health; provides impact data

Overview

Genesis provides soil health and land-use impact data through a SaaS platform, rating soil health on a 0–100 scale. It analyzes land by dividing it into homogeneous zones using topography, geology, and farming practices, with lab analysis (including DNA and carbon) and satellite data to assess impacts like water retention and carbon storage. Farmers contribute data for free, while corporations pay for access to verified data and analytics via dashboards for reporting and decision-making. The goal is to standardize and transparently communicate soil information to improve sustainability across supply chains.

Drury depot marks new chapter for Genesis LPG network.

Drury depot marks new chapter for Genesis LPG network. * about * / * news * / * Drury depot marks new chapter for Genesis LPG network. Genesis has celebrated the opening of a new LPG depot in Drury, marking a major investment in the future of its LPG business. The state-of-the-art facility will strengthen supply across South Auckland and North Waikato while providing a safer, larger and more efficient base for operations. The ceremony included representatives from Ngāti Tamaoho Charitable Trust, connecting the occasion to the whenua, recognising those who have contributed and preparing the new depot for its purpose. Genesis CE Malcolm Johns cut the ribbon. Replacing the former Pukekohe depot, the new site will support more than 4,000 residential customers and almost 270 small and medium businesses. GM LPG Operations Neil Crookes said Drury's location positions Genesis to meet rising demand as the region continues to expand. "Drury's population is set to soar, so we're in the right place to build our presence for future customers." The depot's role extends beyond serving local customers. It will also become a key distribution hub for new LPG cylinders entering the Upper North Island. With around 30,000 cylinders distributed across the region last year, the new facility will help keep supply moving efficiently across the network. Safety was a key consideration in the depot's design. Automated filling processes, gas detection systems and purpose-built engineering controls help reduce risk and support safer day-to-day operations. Johns said the attention to detail is what sets the new facility apart. "It's been designed in a bespoke way and has a lot of safety features wrapped around it." Those improvements are already making a difference for the team on site. The larger depot has removed many of the space constraints the team worked around at Pukekohe, smoothing workflow and allowing more trucks to load at once. For Drury Delivery Team Lead Craig Townsend, the biggest difference has been the extra flexibility. "We could normally only have about four trucks at the dock at a time. Now we've got 10, so we've got much more freedom and flexibility around the way we do our work." Looking ahead, Johns said Drury is another example of Genesis continuing to invest in the parts of the business that will support customers for years to come. "We see LPG as a growth part of our business. It's about delivering energy that never stops, whether that's electricity or LPG." Media contact. Sulu Vaeau-Mulitalo Communications Advisor

Three-Year Kupe gas sales extension strengthens echelon's market position.

Three-Year Kupe gas sales extension strengthens echelon's market position. Echelon Resources Limited (ASX: ECH) has strengthened its position in New Zealand's energy market by extending its gas supply agreement with Genesis Energy Limited (ASX: GNE) for an additional three years. The amended arrangement secures ongoing sales from the Kupe gas field and includes pricing linked to prevailing market conditions, along with inflation-based escalation throughout the contract term. This extension provides greater revenue visibility while reinforcing the importance of Kupe as a reliable source of domestically produced natural gas. Management highlighted that the agreement supports local employment, economic activity, and energy security by ensuring a continued supply of locally sourced gas to businesses and households across New Zealand. The Kupe project remains a key asset within the country's energy infrastructure, helping meet ongoing demand while supporting industrial operations. Echelon holds a 4% interest in the Kupe permit, alongside operator Beach Energy (50%) and Genesis Energy (46%), providing the company with exposure to a strategically important energy-producing asset. April 19, 2026 at 08:39 PM UTC - By FilingReader AI Genesis Energy has reached a final investment decision for the second stage of its battery energy storage system at Huntly Power Station. The NZ$106 million project adds 100MW / 200MWh of capacity, bringing the site's total to 200MW / 400MWh. The expansion is expected to be the lowest-cost grid-scale battery in New Zealand by leveraging existing infrastructure. The project targets an internal rate of return of approximately 10%. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q2 FY27, with operations expected to commence by Q3 FY28. Saft has been appointed for the supply and long-term servicing of the facility. This expansion is part of the company's NZ$2 billion Gen35 growth plan.
