Giga Energy converts flare gas from oil and gas wells into electricity to power modular data centers used for Bitcoin mining. The company designs, builds, and operates on-site power generation equipment and modular data centers directly at well sites, turning wasted natural gas into usable energy. Revenue comes from selling the power infrastructure and data centers, plus a share of the Bitcoin mined fuelled by that power. Competitively, Giga Energy focuses specifically on flare-gas monetization for oil and gas operators, combining energy infrastructure with crypto mining to create an on-site, end-to-end solution rather than just selling equipment or services. The goal is to reduce gas flaring, monetize previously wasted gas, and provide a practical revenue stream by mining Bitcoin at the source.

American Bitcoin names Paul Sacks Interim CFO following matt Prusak's exit. American Bitcoin reported record Q2 Bitcoin production and $67 million in revenue while appointing Paul Sacks as Interim CFO. Published by Key Highlights * American Bitcoin reported $67 million in Q2 revenue and mined a record 932 BTC, up 14% quarter-over-quarter. * As Bitcoin treasury holdings reach 8,002 BTC, Paul Sacks has been appointed Interim CFO, effective August 4. * Matthew Prusak resigned as President and Interim CFO, while the President role remains vacant. The Eric Trump-led American Bitcoin has announced a major leadership transition while reporting second quarter results with record Bitcoin production. It has appointed Paul Sacks as Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following the resignation of President and Interim CFO Matthew Prusak. The announcement coincides with American Bitcoin's second-quarter earnings. It has reported continued growth in its Bitcoin mining operations and treasury strategy despite softer-than-expected revenue. Who is American Bitcoin's new CFO Paul Sacks. The executive reshuffle was disclosed in a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The board of directors approved Sacks' appointment on July 31. Sacks will continue serving as Head of Derivatives, alongside his role of American Bitcoin'sCFO. The appointment is significant as Sacks recently joined American Bitcoin in May 2026 after serving as Co-Head of Digital Exotics at BlockFills, where he focused on institutional digital asset derivatives. Prior to that, he co-founded Digital Gamma, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency derivatives and risk management. The company also entered into a standard indemnification agreement with Sacks, similar to those signed by its other executive officers. The move comes after American Bitcoin's Matthew Prusak resigned from his dual roles as President and Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective August 4. According to the SEC filing, Prusak's departure was voluntary and not the result of any disagreement with the company regarding its operations, accounting practices, financial reporting, or corporate policies. In his Linkedin post, Matthew announced that he is joining Giga Energy as Chief Business Officer and Interim CFO. While American Bitcoin moved swiftly to appoint Sacks as Interim CFO, the company has not named a replacement for the President position, leaving the role vacant. American Bitcoin reports record Bitcoin production in Q2. The executive transition comes at an important stage for American Bitcoin. The Trump brothers-led company is expanding both its mining operations and Bitcoin treasury strategy. In its Q2 2026, American Bitcoin generated $67 million in revenue even though it missed analysts' consensus estimate of $73.8 million. Despite the revenue miss, the company delivered strong operational performance. As per its official release, during the quarter, American Bitcoin mined a record 932 BTC, marking a 14% increase quarter-over-quarter. It also expanded its corporate Bitcoin treasury to 8,002 BTC by the end of June. Q2 2026 was $ABTC highest quarterly Bitcoin production on record. Read now. Despite missing revenue estimates as per a CoinGape report, management remained confident in its long-term strategy. CEO Mike Ho said in the earnings calls that "production, not price, drove our growth this quarter". He emphasized that record Bitcoin output, rather than favorable market conditions, fueled the company's performance. Ho also reiterated the firm's commitment to its Bitcoin treasury strategy, noting that "we did not sell a single Bitcoin from our balance sheet reserve". This is similar to Strategy, whose Executive Chairman Michael Saylor recently clarified that the company would remain a net buyer of BTC despite speculation around a potential $5 billion Bitcoin sale. Ho also highlighted growing competition from artificial intelligence infrastructure, saying that "since the ChatGPT moment, we've seen a flurry of new developers coming in to source the same power". This comes as AI data centers are now increasingly competing with Bitcoin miners for electricity and suitable sites. Both Eric Trump and Mike Ho reiterated American Bitcoin's focus on scaling mining infrastructure. It now eyes improving operational efficiency, and strengthening its balance sheet through disciplined capital allocation. Thus, with more than 8,000 BTC on its balance sheet and record quarterly Bitcoin production, the company is focusing on scaling operations while strengthening its financial leadership. Investors will now be watching for the appointment of a permanent CFO and a new President as American Bitcoin pursues its next phase of growth. Matt Prusak has left American Bitcoin to join Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim CFO, according to a LinkedIn post. Giga is an AI and HPC infrastructure provider. Prusak departed his roles as president and interim CFO of American Bitcoin on 4 August. Paul Sacks, who will continue as head of derivatives, replaced him as interim CFO. Previously, Prusak held infrastructure positions at US Bitcoin and Hut 8, and served as CEO of Ionic Digital before helping launch American Bitcoin in 2025. He initially led the company as CEO until its Nasdaq listing in September, then became president and interim CFO. American Bitcoin reported $67 million revenue and a $57.2 million net loss for Q2 2026.
Trump-backed American Bitcoin (ABTC) executive Matt Prusak joins Giga Energy. CryptoWorld August 3, 2026 American Bitcoin Matt Prusak, president and interim chief financial officer of Trump-linked bitcoin miner American Bitcoin (ABTC), is leaving the company to join AI and energy infrastructure developer Giga Energy, marking another senior executive move toward the power sector that is increasingly underpinning both bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence. Prusak said he will step down from American Bitcoin effective Aug. 4 and join Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim CFO. He said in emailed comments that after "years building bitcoin businesses," he was shifting "upstream to the power infrastructure now constraining both mining and AI compute." The departure reflects a broader shift as bitcoin miners reposition around AI and power infrastructure. As mining becomes increasingly commoditized and margins come under pressure, a growing number of miners are pivoting toward artificial intelligence infrastructure, repurposing their power, land and data center expertise to serve the surging demand for AI compute. The shift has accelerated as hyperscalers race to secure electricity and capacity, allowing mining companies to diversify revenue beyond bitcoin production and tap the higher valuations being awarded to AI infrastructure businesses.
Royse City town hall scheduled for Thursday on proposed Giga Energy data center. Meeting is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smoke Sessions BBQ at 307 State Highway 66. * By Kent Miller | [email protected] * Jul 28, 2026 Updated Jul 28, 2026 The public will have an opportunity to learn more about a proposed data center just outside Royse City during a town hall meeting hosted by Houston-based Giga Energy on Thursday. The meeting is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smoke Sessions BBQ, 307 State Highway 66 in Royse City. Organizers have released few details but an initial agenda indicates the event will include a presentation, a general question-and-answer session and individual stations where attendees can ask more detailed questions. The proposed BT Gateway Data Center would occupy about 30 acres along County Road 2656 outside Royse City, with approximately 20 acres slated for development. Giga Energy CEO and co-founder Brent Whitehead said the project's main building would cover about two acres and would house artificial intelligence computing operations. Construction is expected to take about 12 months, with a target completion date of mid-2027. Company officials said the facility would use a closed-loop cooling system that is filled once with a water-and-glycol mixture that continually recirculates, eliminating evaporative water loss during normal operations. The project would receive electricity through existing three-phase distribution lines rather than requiring new high-voltage transmission lines. Giga Energy said it would pay for any infrastructure improvements needed to connect the facility to the electric grid. To address concerns about noise, the company said cooling equipment would be installed at ground level instead of on rooftops. Plans also call for a permanent sound wall around the property, temporary sound barriers during construction and landscaping designed to reduce both noise and visual impacts. Construction is expected to employ about 300 workers over the course of the project, with no more than about 100 workers on-site at any one time. Once operational, the data center is expected to employ between 20 and 24 full-time workers in skilled technical positions with six-figure salaries. Giga Energy said it is not seeking tax abatements or other public subsidies for the project. Company officials estimate the development would generate approximately $7.2 million annually in county property tax revenue. No additional information about Thursday's town hall has been released.
Giga Energy introduces proposed project near Royse City. New owner of data center in far West Hunt County speaks with county commissioners. * By Kent Miller | [email protected] * Jul 21, 2026 Updated 11 hrs ago GREENVILLE - The Hunt County Commissioners Court at last week's regular session heard a presentation from Houston-based Giga Energy on a proposed data center development on County Road 2656 near Royse City. County officials said Giga Energy requested the meeting to introduce the project and answer questions from commissioners and the public. Speaking by Zoom from Houston, Brent Whitehead - co-founder and chief operating officer of Giga Energy - said the company develops, builds, owns and operates its own data centers rather than serving solely as an investment firm. "Our goal is to build electrical infrastructure that helps modernize the electric grid," Whitehead said. The proposed BT Gateway Data Center would occupy about 30 acres outside Royse City, with roughly 20 acres slated for development. Whitehead said the main building would cover about two acres and would process artificial intelligence computing workloads. Construction is expected to take about 12 months with a target completion date of mid-2027, he said. Whitehead described the facility as a "micro data center" compared with larger artificial intelligence campuses being developed elsewhere in Texas. He said Hunt County was selected because existing electrical capacity is available through Farmers Electric Cooperative. Rather than requiring construction of new substations or major transmission infrastructure, Giga Energy plans to purchase unused electrical capacity already available on the system. Whitehead said the company would pay for any electrical upgrades needed to serve the project instead of passing those costs on to cooperative members. The company plans to hold a public town hall meeting within the next one to two weeks to provide a more detailed presentation, answer questions and host breakout discussions on topics including water, electricity and noise. "We want to answer every concern," Whitehead said. Water use has emerged as one of the project's primary concerns among nearby residents, Whitehead acknowledged. He said the facility would use a closed-loop cooling system filled once with a water-and-glycol mixture that continually recirculates, eliminating evaporative water loss. Annual water consumption would be roughly equivalent to that of about 2[1/2] homes, with most usage coming from employee restrooms and sinks, he said. Whitehead added that Giga Energy could truck in water if requested and would consider helping fund water infrastructure improvements if nearby residents need expanded service. The facility would receive power through existing three-phase distribution lines rather than new high-voltage transmission lines, Whitehead said. He said Giga Energy would pay for any infrastructure improvements required to connect the project. Addressing noise concerns, Whitehead said cooling equipment would be installed at ground level instead of on rooftops, a permanent sound wall would surround the property, temporary sound barriers would be used during construction and landscaping would help reduce both noise and visual impacts. He said company sound studies are intended to ensure nearby road traffic would generate more noise than the completed facility. Whitehead also said environmental studies conducted by third-party consultants included habitat assessments, wetland delineations and other environmental reviews. The site is not located in wetlands and is not expected to affect protected species, he said. Construction is expected to employ about 300 workers over the course of the project, with no more than about 100 on site at one time. Whitehead said the company intends to use local contractors whenever possible and coordinate with county officials on traffic management and road repairs. Once operational, the data center is expected to employ between 20 and 24 full-time workers in skilled technical positions paying six-figure salaries, Whitehead said. Whitehead said Giga Energy is not seeking tax abatements or other public subsidies for the project. He estimated the development would generate approximately $7.2 million annually in county property tax revenue.
