Halo Collar

Halo Collar

GPS-based dog containment system with app

Overview

Halo Collar provides a GPS-based dog safety system that creates wireless virtual fences using satellite positioning rather than wires. The Halo Collar device works with the Halo App to map a perimeter by walking it or drawing it in the app, and then trains using custom feedback features developed with Cesar Millan. The system does not require WiFi or cellular connections to keep a dog within the set boundary and works across varied terrains, eliminating the need for physical barriers. It differentiates itself from competitors by offering a wire-free, GPS-driven containment and training solution that can be deployed anywhere, paired with app-based setup and behavior feedback. The company aims to help pet owners keep their dogs safe and well-trained by providing an easy-to-use, portable containment system through direct product sales and potential app-related services.

Dog Whisperer helps create GPS collar that replaces invisible fence, now worth $100M

Ken Ehrman launched Halo Collar after his niece's dog was killed by a car when it escaped an invisible fence. Drawing on 25 years of experience tracking industrial assets like forklifts and rental cars with GPS technology, Ehrman developed a GPS dog collar that eliminates the need for traditional wired fences. Research showed 10 million pets are lost annually, with over a million dogs hit by cars. Monthly searches for "invisible fence" reached 500,000, indicating strong demand. Ehrman partnered with Cesar Millan, known as the Dog Whisperer, to build the company. Halo now generates $100 million in annual revenue, applying IoT technology to consumer pet safety.

How Halo Collar Climbed from #5 to #1 in ChatGPT's Foundational Model.

How Halo Collar Climbed from #5 to #1 in ChatGPT's Foundational Model. See how Halo Collar became the number one recommended GPS Dog Fence Collar brand in under two months. June 8, 2026 Madison Brisseaux VP, Product Marketing Halo Collar makes one of the most sophisticated GPS fence and training collar products on the market. The Halo 5 collar combines GPS boundary training, real-time location tracking, and AI-powered dog behavior technology in a single device. The company sells direct-to-consumer and has built a strong following among dog owners who want a wireless fence alternative without buried wires or static corrections. In December 2025, Halo Collar held a #5 ranking in ChatGPT's foundational model for GPS Fence Dog Collar, a category they should own, with an AI Brand Index score of 67 out of 100. The brand had strong organic search performance, an exceptional product, and real consumer trust. By every traditional marketing metric, they were winning. But as more buyers began turning to ChatGPT and other AI models to research and compare GPS dog collars, Halo was largely absent from those conversations. The problem wasn't product quality or brand awareness. It was that AI models didn't have enough of the right content to confidently recommend Halo over competitors. The brand's owned content library hadn't yet been built for how LLMs evaluate and cite sources. Diagnosing the visibility gap. Evertune's AI brand monitoring gave Halo's team a precise picture of where they stood and, more importantly, why. Consumer Preferences revealed which attributes AI models were and weren't associating with Halo in its category. Three stood out as clear gaps: customer service, battery life, and real-time tracking, areas where Halo's product was strong but its content library was thin. Competitors were winning those associations by default. Building content that AI models actually use. With the gaps identified, Evertune used Content Studio to publish 15 AI-optimized articles targeting the specific attributes where Halo had the lowest visibility. The articles covered category education, competitive comparisons, and buying guides (the content types AI models reach for when answering purchase-consideration queries). The competitive comparison pieces proved especially effective. Articles directly comparing the Halo 5 against Tractive and the Fi Series 3 were built to capture citation when buyers asked AI models to help them choose between options. These pages now appear as cited sources in head-to-head queries across multiple models. Of the 15 articles published, over 10 are now actively cited by AI models in the category. How ChatGPT's model update pushed Halo Collar to the top. In April 2026, ChatGPT updated its foundational model to version 5.4. The update rewarded brands with refreshed, high-quality content libraries, and Halo's newly built content infrastructure was ready for it. The foundational model score for GPS Fence Dog Collar jumped from 67 to 91 on ChatGPT. That change reflects how ChatGPT's base model, the knowledge layer that powers AI agents and underpins consumer app responses, perceives and recommends the brand. It's the most durable form of AI visibility, and it's where Halo's investment paid off most visibly. Results. * Climbed from #5 to #1 in ChatGPT's foundational model for GPS fence collar recommendations * +36% increase in AI Brand Score on ChatGPT Foundational Model (GPS Fence Dog Collars) * +115% increase in AI Brand Score on ChatGPT Consumer App (Wireless Dog Fence) * 10+ of 15 published articles now actively cited by AI models in the category * Largest foundational model score gain measured across Evertune's platform during the April 2026 ChatGPT update cycle Looking ahead. With a #1 ranking secured in their flagship category on ChatGPT, Halo Collar is focused on extending that advantage across other models. The team is working with Evertune to use Site Audit to identify and resolve the technical aspects of their site that affect how AI models crawl and index their content. Content Studio work continues with more technical product pages and in-depth comparison content targeting the attributes where AI models evaluate purchase decisions. And through Partner Connect, Halo can activate affiliate relationships on the high-authority domains AI models already cite most heavily in their category. Evertune is the marketing platform for brand discovery in AI search. Evertune AI, Inc. help brands reach buyers whose customer journey now includes AI, tracking real search behavior and prompt volumes across 150M prompts, improving organic visibility through GEO, creating data-driven content built for AI education and advertising to buyers in and beyond the AI conversation. As AI agents increasingly drive purchase decisions, the brands with visibility infrastructure in place today will own the category tomorrow. Founded by the Trade Desk founding team, trusted by marketing and data analytics leaders across every major vertical, and backed by $20M in funding, its data is used by AI model makers themselves.
