HawkCell

HawkCell

Animal-dedicated MRI system with AI

Overview

HawkCell Tech adapts human MRI systems for animal use in veterinary and preclinical labs by adding a plug-and-play AI layer and animal-specific hardware. It uses patent-protected, 3D-printed MRI coils and a proprietary animal positioner to customize standard MRI hardware for animals, while an AI layer denoises images, speeds acquisition, and enables new imaging sequences. The system can be operated remotely and delivers image quality that is three times clearer, applicable to about 90% of human MRI diagnoses in animals across oncology, cardiology, and surgery. This approach improves animal welfare, reduces anesthesia time and CO2 emissions, lowers animal-related costs, and boosts ROI by at least 50% for clinicians and researchers.

  • HawkAI claims up to 2× faster scans with sharper images, strengthening clinic economics.
  • Manufacturer-agnostic software and remote support expand sales into existing installed MRI fleets.

What critics are saying

  • Time Medical controls 45% of China's veterinary MRI market, limiting HawkCell's bargaining power.
  • Veterinary MRI adoption depends on manufacturers and clinics, risking slow conversion to revenue.

What makes HawkCell unique

  • HawkCell partners with NORAS MRI Products on a veterinary spine coil, March 2026.
  • TIME Medical Systems integration gives HawkCell access to China's 140-installation veterinary MRI network.
