HomeLight has launched EVA, an AI-powered escrow agent designed to automate real estate transaction closings, and secured $40 million in debt financing from BlackRock to scale the platform nationwide. EVA is described as the industry's first agentic escrow officer, capable of working with over 80 tools to automate the majority of the 120-plus tasks typically required to complete an escrow. The platform handles tasks including opening orders, ordering homeowners' association documents and title information, interfacing with lenders, and processing fund transfers. The system promises to reduce transaction times significantly whilst maintaining security through end-to-end encryption. HomeLight has previously matched over two million buyers and sellers with estate agents and facilitates billions of dollars in residential property transactions annually for thousands of agents and lenders.
