Hoxton Farms makes cultivated fats in London by growing pig stem cells outside the animal’s body using plant-based nutrients. The resulting fat is sold to food manufacturers to improve the taste and texture of plant-based meat alternatives. The process involves culturing stem cells into fat tissue, which is then harvested and provided to clients for use in their products. Compared with competitors, Hoxton Farms offers real animal fat produced without slaughter, enabling authentic flavor as an ingredient rather than a substitute like plant oils. The company operates on a B2B model and aims to scale the availability of cultivated fat to support sustainable, ethical options in the growing alternative-protein market.
