HubSync

Audit firm platform for client transparency

Inflo, HubSync partner on audit, tax platform integration.

Inflo, HubSync partner on audit, tax platform integration. Updated June 11, 2026, 9:50 am Inflo and HubSync have announced a strategic technology partnership to deliver an integrated digital audit and tax workflow for accounting firms. The partnership will combine Inflo's digital audit platform with HubSync's client engagement, tax workflow and practice management technology to create a unified platform supporting the entire engagement lifecycle, from client data collection and validation through analytics, testing, workpapers, collaboration and reporting. The companies said the integration will enable audit data to flow directly into tax workflows, eliminating duplicate data entry and manual processes while improving efficiency, audit quality and visibility across engagements. "Most firms still treat audit and tax as separate silos, and that's where the friction starts. You see the same data being rekeyed, the same questions asked twice and teams losing time on work that adds no value," said Mark Edmondson, CEO of Inflo. "With HubSync, we're now connecting the dots. Audit data flows straight into tax - no rework, no confusion. It's a single, reliable workflow that will allow firms focus on the work that matters and deliver a better experience for their clients." "Audit and tax teams are still working in separate systems, chasing trial balances, rekeying data and resolving differences late in the process," said John McGowan, founder and CEO of HubSync. "Our partnership with Inflo connects audited financial data directly into our tax workpapers and workflows, eliminating duplication and giving firms a seamless path from audit through to tax and client delivery. It's the foundation for fully connected audit and tax engagements, built on shared, reliable data from start to finish."

HubSync launches Halo AI system to automate tax and accounting engagement lifecycle

HubSync, a client experience and automation platform for CPA firms, has launched HubSync Halo, an AI operating system that automates the full tax and accounting engagement lifecycle. The system reduces manual processes through end-to-end agents that handle tasks from engagement letters to delivery and close. HubSync Halo uses specialised AI agents to automate workflows across five stages: engage, gather, prepare and review, deliver, and close and advise. The platform extracts tax form data with high accuracy, performs calculations, flags variances, and handles document classification in real time whilst maintaining human oversight at critical review points. Built with security controls, client data is never sent to AI model providers or used for training. The platform will be demonstrated at AICPA ENGAGE 2026 in Las Vegas this June.

CFOs must rethink ROI to retain talent amid accountant shortage

HubSync's SVP of finance and operations Mahati Mukkamala argues CFOs must redefine ROI beyond financial returns when addressing the ongoing accounting talent shortage. As experienced accountants retire without sufficient graduate replacements, finance chiefs face pressure to run leaner teams whilst retaining skilled staff and preventing burnout. Mukkamala suggests CFOs should measure ROI by whether technology makes employees more effective rather than purely cost savings. Strategic investment in technology, upskilling and mentorship is essential to empower smaller workforces. Whilst some US states have introduced alternative CPA licensure pathways, boosting accounting programme enrolment slightly, obstacles remain including higher salaries in competing professions and uncertainty around AI's role in accounting. This continues to pressure finance leaders seeking to attract and retain talent.
