iCapital, an alternative investment platform, has partnered with Anthropic for its next artificial intelligence phase. The firm selected Claude for its reasoning capabilities, interpretability and effectiveness in compliance-focused environments. Claude Code has been introduced into iCapital's software development platform over recent months. The technology will be integrated into client-facing applications and operational systems, according to CEO Lawrence Calcano. The firm expects Claude to enhance the advisor experience from fund discovery through to subscription, potentially allowing consolidation of some applications. iCapital will maintain an open AI architecture model for its platform whilst leveraging Claude to improve ease of use and operational efficiency across advisor-facing applications.
iCapital has partnered with BlackRock to integrate its alternative investment platform into Aladdin Wealth, BlackRock's portfolio analytics technology for wealth managers. The integration will allow Aladdin Wealth users to access alternative investments, initiate subscriptions and redemptions, and track status updates directly through the platform. The partnership aims to streamline alternative investment processes for advisers, providing a connected framework for portfolio construction and oversight. iCapital chairman and CEO Lawrence Calcano said the collaboration will improve efficiency and support more personalised client outcomes. In 2024, BlackRock previously partnered with iCapital and TAMP GeoWealth to launch custom public-private model portfolios, with iCapital's technology supporting the platform experience for registered investment advisers.

iCapital, a global fintech company, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Hexure, a leader in digital and AI-powered sales automation solutions for insurance and wealth management. The acquisition will create the industry's first end-to-end annuity and insurance technology platform, integrated with iCapital's alternatives and structured investments platform. The combined platform will support the full investment lifecycle, from discovery through post-sale servicing. Hexure's FireLight digital sales platform and ForeSight illustration technology will be integrated into iCapital's broader system, serving financial advisors, distributors and insurance carriers. iCapital manages over $1.14 trillion in assets globally across its platform. THL Partners is Hexure's current majority investor. Transaction terms were not disclosed, and BofA Securities served as financial adviser to iCapital.
iCapital, a global fintech company, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Passthrough, a provider of investor onboarding solutions and financial compliance infrastructure for general partners. The acquisition will enable iCapital to support LP onboarding across both private wealth and institutional channels, creating a unified platform for GPs to onboard investors of any type or size. Together, iCapital and Passthrough support 1,200 GPs and product providers globally. Passthrough's platform modernises investor identity, subscription documents and KYC/AML compliance for private markets, complementing iCapital's existing Identity Solutions. The combined platform will help GPs capture institutional demand—which exceeded $1.30 trillion in 2025—whilst tapping into growing allocations from wealth managers. iCapital currently services over $1.13 trillion in assets globally across its platform.
