ImOn Communications lights up free public Wi-Fi at Iowa City Kickers Soccer Park. ImOn Communications, a leading provider of fiber Internet services across the Midwest, recently launched free public Wi-Fi at Iowa City Kickers Soccer Park, located on the southeast side of Iowa City. The 108-acre park is now equipped with ImOn's state-of-the-art wireless infrastructure, allowing visitors to enjoy seamless Internet connectivity across all 23 fields in the soccer complex. The timing of this rollout aligns with the start of youth spring leagues and summer camps. "We are proud to partner with the City of Iowa City to bring free public Wi-Fi to Iowa City Kickers Soccer Park," said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. "Investing in the communities we serve is central to who we are, and providing free Wi-Fi in gathering spaces like this is one meaningful way we help keep people connected. At ImOn, we're committed to making connections one person at a time - whether at home or on the go." ImOn's public Wi-Fi network at the soccer park offers a fast and secure Internet connection, allowing families to share photos from the sidelines, check game schedules, and stay connected during practices and games. ImOn also provides free public Wi-Fi in several other Iowa City locations, including the Pedestrian Mall, Riverfront Crossings Park, and the Pepperwood Plaza in the South of 6 Business District. ImOn Communications completes fiber Internet network in 9 Iowa communities in 2025, laying 2.8 million feet of fiber and giving back $540,000. ImOn Communications set new company growth records in 2025, completing its 100% fiber Internet network in nine communities while giving back more than half a million dollars in charitable donations and community support across its service areas. The 2025 expansion efforts included laying 532 miles (2.8 million linear feet) of fiber infrastructure in both new and existing service areas, marking ImOn's largest expansion to date and doubling its 2024 buildout of 265 miles. This expansion extended fiber Internet service across 17 communities and represented an investment in excess of $100 million. More than half of that investment was concentrated in Southeast Iowa, where ImOn started and completed fiber networks in West Burlington, Burlington, Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, and Keokuk. This continued investment reinforces ImOn's commitment to delivering next-generation connectivity across the Midwest. ImOn also acquired Danville Telecom, a fiber-optic telecommunications and broadband provider serving Southeast Iowa since 1901. The Danville office now serves as ImOn's primary hub in the region. ImOn completed four additional expansion projects that began construction in 2024, including Marshalltown, Clinton, and Camanche, Iowa, as well as South Sioux City, Nebraska. The remainder of ImOn's footprint growth came from pocket builds - smaller construction projects focused on targeted neighborhoods within existing service areas, including the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Dubuque metro areas. "Every year, we set ambitious growth goals - and every year, our team exceeds them in remarkable ways," said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. "But this work is about more than miles of fiber in the ground. It's about building future-ready infrastructure that grows with our customers, keeping them connected to what matters most - today and for decades to come. That's what drives us: creating better connections, one person at a time." ImOn will continue its fiber Internet expansion in 2026, with projects planned in Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin. Fiber construction is also underway in ImOn's hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the company replaces its legacy hybrid fiber-coaxial network with a 100% fiber-to-the-home network. This upgrade will enable speeds up to 2 Gbps - more than six times faster than the current network - while delivering enhanced reliability and performance. In addition to expanding its network footprint, ImOn invested $540,000 back into its communities in 2025, supporting nearly 200 nonprofit organizations and community programs. The company focuses on four giving pillars: arts and culture, children and education, economic development, and social services. "Being part of the communities we serve means more than providing Internet service," said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. "We strive to make a meaningful impact beyond our services, and we are proud to have contributed more than half a million dollars to nonprofit organizations, community programs, and giving initiatives last year. We look forward to becoming active members in Duluth and Superior in 2026."
ImOn Communications appoints Dave Ball to Twin Ports team as Manager of Sales and Operations. ImOn Communications welcomes Dave Ball to their growing team in the Twin Ports Region to serve as Manager of Sales and Operations. ImOn Communications recently announced the expansion of their 100% fiber Internet network to Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota. In this role, Mr. Ball leads ImOn's regional sales team and drives customer acquisition as ImOn's network footprint begins to take shape. Prior to joining ImOn, Mr. Ball served as the Sales Manager at Chariton Valley, a telecommunications company in Northeast Missouri. There, he worked alongside Kirby Underberg, ImOn's recently appointed Vice President and General Manager of the Twin Ports Region. "Mr. Ball and Mr. Underberg are excited to be working together again, and we as a company are grateful to have their joint expertise at play in the Superior and Duluth area," said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. "ImOn's approach to growth has always been about creating meaningful connections, one person at a time, with a focus on relationships over transactions and personalization over aggressive sales tactics - and Mr. Ball's sales mindset and strategy align perfectly with this philosophy." Construction of the fiber-to-the-premises network begins this spring in both communities, as soon as the weather allows. Founded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 2007, ImOn's service area has grown rapidly over the last decade. ImOn currently serves seven metro areas across three states: Cedar Rapids metro, Iowa City metro, Dubuque metro, Sioux City metro (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota), Clinton metro, Marshalltown, and many rural communities across Southeast Iowa. The Twin Ports region marks ImOn's eighth metro area with fiber Internet service.

ImOn Communications is excited to announce that Kirby Underberg has been appointed to the company's leadership team as Vice President and General Manager of the Great Lakes Region. Recently, ImOn Communications announced the expansion of their 100% fiber Internet network to Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota. In this role, Mr. Underberg will spearhead ImOn's entry into this new market, establishing regional partnerships and laying the foundation for long-term growth. Mr. Underberg has worked in the telecommunications industry in the Midwest for the entirety of his 30-year career. Most recently, he served as COO of Socket Fiber in Columbia, Missouri. Prior to that, Mr. Underberg was the President and CEO of Chariton Valley, a telecommunications company in Northeast Missouri.
