Insmed's stock trades at 25.3 times sales despite falling 37% from its 52-week high, as revenue nearly tripled to $1.1 billion over the past twelve months. The premium reflects management's raised peak-sales estimate of over $14 billion across three lead programmes. BRINSUPRI, the company's bronchiectasis drug, generated $309.2 million in its third full quarter, up 49% sequentially. Management raised full-year BRINSUPRI guidance to between $1.25 billion and $1.4 billion. However, more than $6 billion of the peak estimate depends on TPIP, an inhaled treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension, which is still in Phase III trials. The company ended June with $1.2 billion in cash, which management says will fund operations to cash flow positivity in 2027.
Insmed's share price surged 33.86% on Thursday to close at $132.55 after the biopharmaceutical company nearly quadrupled its revenues in the second quarter. Total revenues soared 296% to $425.5 million from $107.4 million year-on-year, driven primarily by Brinsupri, its non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis treatment, which contributed $309.2 million. The company's lung disease treatment Arikayce added $116.3 million in revenues, up 8% year-on-year. The strong performance helped slash net loss by 96% to $13.2 million from $321.7 million in the same period last year. Insmed raised its full-year revenue guidance to between $1.25 billion and $1.4 billion, representing growth of 624% to 710.6% year-on-year. Investors will be watching whether Brinsupri can sustain momentum whilst the company awaits regulatory decisions for brensocatib in Japan in the second half of 2026.
Insmed reported Q2 2026 revenue of $309.2 million for BRINSUPRI, up 49% sequentially, whilst ARIKAYCE generated $116.3 million, rising 8% year-over-year. The company raised its full-year 2026 BRINSUPRI revenue guidance to $1.25 billion to $1.4 billion and increased peak sales estimates to over $7 billion. BRINSUPRI added approximately 7,000 new patients in Q2, with 90% payer approval and high patient compliance rates. The company maintains a cash position of $1.2 billion and expects to reach cash flow positivity in 2027. Cost of product revenues fell to 16% of revenues, down from 26% in Q2 2025. However, combined R&D and SG&A expenses increased 38% year-over-year. The company expects to incur $50 million in milestone payments to AstraZeneca in the second half of 2026.
Insmed reported revenue of $425.49 million for Q2 2026, a 296.1% year-over-year increase that beat the consensus estimate of $389.72 million by 9.18%. The company posted a loss of $0.52 per share, narrower than the $1.70 loss a year earlier and beating analyst expectations of $0.69 per share by 24.64%. US revenues reached $378.74 million, significantly exceeding the $334.1 million analyst estimate and marking a 451.4% year-over-year increase. BRINSUPRI generated $309.17 million in total revenue, surpassing the $275.82 million estimate. ARIKAYCE total revenues came in at $116.32 million, slightly above the $113.9 million consensus. Despite the strong results, shares have declined 15% over the past month.
Insmed reported second-quarter 2026 revenues of $425.5 million, driven by strong performance from its respiratory therapies. BRINSUPRI generated $309.2 million, representing 49% growth over the first quarter, whilst ARIKAYCE brought in $116.3 million, up 8% year-over-year. The company raised its 2026 BRINSUPRI revenue guidance to $1.25 billion to $1.40 billion from the previous target of at least $1 billion. ARIKAYCE guidance remained unchanged at $450 million to $470 million. Insmed also increased its peak revenue estimate for its three lead programmes to more than $14 billion combined. This comprises over $7 billion for BRINSUPRI, more than $6 billion for TPIP, and over $1 billion for ARIKAYCE.
