Huge update on Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man 3.

Huge update on Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man 3. Insomniac has been holding off on news regarding Marvel's Spider-Man 3. The reason? They are busy marketing and preparing for the launch of Marvel's Wolverine, releasing next month. After that, a Venom standalone game may also be lined up. However, amidst this chaotic production and launch calendar, Last Word on Gaming has a positive update on Marvel's Spider-Man 3 before Insomniac even officially announced anything regarding it. Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is moving fast! Not too long ago, the face model for Peter Parker, Ben Jordan, uploaded a picture of himself in mo-cap gear, doing the iconic Spider-Man "thwip" hand gesture. This was assumed to be a teaser for the third installment of the game, but some of the community members didn't take this update too seriously. But now, things are almost confirmed. Usually, when things are officially confirmed, they are updated in the IMDb database. This goes for almost all movies, shows, and video games. Well, IMDb now officially has the Marvel's Spider-Man 3 page ready, with the page revealing that the project is already "In Production". Prior to this, there were reports regarding job listings pertaining to the third game in the Insomniac Spider-Man franchise. Although neither Sony nor Insomniac have announced anything regarding the "final chapter" of the series, this IMDb reveal gives fans a ray of hope. Meanwhile, Insomniac Games may also be working on the heavily rumored Venom standalone game. But also, they are reportedly developing a brand-new superhero game that is not related to the X-Men or Spider-Man franchises. Since there have been no official revelations, gamers are open to making their guesses. Till then, take everything with a grain of salt. With that said, if Marvel's Wolverine is a success, reports suggest that Insomniac is under contract with Marvel to develop an X-Men game as well. So far, the discussions and revelations have pointed to the fact that there will be no X-Men in the upcoming Wolverine action-adventure, allowing Sony to explore a fresh origin story in the gaming universe. Marvel's Wolverine gets several new screenshots.

Marvel's Wolverine gets several new screenshots. August 13, 2026 8:35 AM, by Thibaut A lucky few members of the gaming press had the opportunity to try out Marvel's Wolverine and share their impressions. PlayStation also took the opportunity to release a few additional screenshots. The VGC website is offering never-before-seen gameplay clips that focus on combat and exploration. Initial feedback has been very positive, but Instant Gaming'll have to wait for the final reviews to judge the game's true quality. Insomniac Games has revealed that New Game+ will be available at launch, as will the option to replay missions. The game will also run at 60 FPS with ray tracing on the standard PS5. Marvel's Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026, on PS5.

Is Marvel's Spider-Man 3 in production? Here's what we found so far.

Is Marvel's Spider-Man 3 in production? Here's what Techwiser found so far. Published: August 12, 2026 Key highlights. * 1 Marvel's Spider-Man 3 has appeared on IMDb listed as currently in production. * 2 Peter Parker face actor Ben Jordan posted a behind-the-scenes motion capture photo on Instagram earlier this year captioned with IYKYK. * 3 Insomniac has not officially confirmed Spider-Man 3 and there is some ambiguity around whether the motion capture work could relate to the confirmed Marvel's Venom spin-off instead. The signs have been building for a while, and now the picture is getting a little clearer. Marvel's Spider-Man 3 game has appeared on IMDb, listed as currently in production rather than pre-production. That distinction matters because it suggests active development is already underway rather than the project simply existing as a planned future title. Here is everything Techwiser know right now about Marvel's Spider-Man 3 in production. Is Marvel's Spider-Man 3 in production? The IMDb listing is the most concrete piece of information available but it did not appear in isolation. Earlier this year, Ben Jordan, the face model for Peter Parker in the Insomniac Spider-Man games, posted a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram wearing motion capture gear. He captioned it with IYKYK and a spider emoji before quickly deleting it. Fans saved the image before it disappeared. The combination of a deleted motion capture photo from Peter Parker's actor and an IMDb listing showing active production is the kind of double signal that is hard to dismiss. It is worth noting that there is some ambiguity here. Insomniac is also confirmed to be working on Marvel's Venom, a spin-off to Spider-Man 2 expected to be similar in scale to Miles Morales. The motion capture work could potentially relate to that project rather than a full Spider-Man 3. However, the IMDb listing specifically references Spider-Man 3 by name which makes it the more likely explanation for what Jordan was teasing. Insomniac's current public focus is entirely on Marvel's Wolverine, which releases on September 15, 2026. The studio has not commented on anything beyond that game officially. But with Wolverine (Wolverine release date countdown), it would make sense for early development work on the next project to be quietly progressing in the background simultaneously. Spider-Man 3, completing the trilogy that began in 2018, is one of the most anticipated gaming announcements waiting to happen. The foundation built across the first two games and Miles Morales is exceptional, and the story threads left open at the end of Spider-Man 2 clearly set something bigger in motion. Whether this is a full reveal coming soon or something Insomniac plans to keep quiet until Wolverine is out in the world, Techwiser do not know. But the evidence that development has started is now sitting on IMDb for everyone to see, and that is nothing. Karan is a gaming writer at TechWiser. New IMDb listing suggests Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is already in production.

New IMDb listing suggests Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is already in production. A new IMDb listing for Marvel's Spider-Man 3 surfaced this week, spotted by fan account SpiderManCD on X. The page lists the game's status as "In production," a designation typically reserved for projects further along than early planning. Neither Insomniac Games nor Sony has acknowledged the listing or confirmed that a third mainline Spider-Man game is in development. The listing carries three credits and nothing else. Bryan Intihar and Ryan Smith appear as directors, the same roles both held on Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which launched on PlayStation 5 in October 2023. Yuri Lowenthal, the voice of Peter Parker throughout the Insomniac series, is listed in the cast reprising that role. No producers, supporting cast, or release window appear on the page. IMDb entries can be created or edited by members of the public, so the credits could simply carry over from earlier games instead of representing new production assignments. The production-status field carries more weight than the credits alone, since placeholder pages built around unannounced titles typically carry no status designation at all. IMDb's production-status data isn't always accurate, but its presence next to specific, matching credits separates this listing from earlier unverified entries that surfaced online without amounting to anything. Insomniac released the original Marvel's Spider-Man in September 2018, then the standalone Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales in November 2020. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 arrived in October 2023, roughly five years after the first game and nearly three years before this week's listing. Marvel's Wolverine remains Insomniac's immediate priority and will arrive exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15. Insomniac opened a June State of Play with roughly 10 minutes of new gameplay footage, introducing a telekinetic Jean Grey teaming with Logan against the Reavers, a faction of cybernetic hunters built to target mutants connected to a task force called Team X. Before this listing surfaced, speculation about Insomniac's next project pointed elsewhere. A 2023 leak tied to a ransomware breach at the studio had outlined a different sequence for its Marvel slate: a standalone Venom game, followed by Spider-Man 3, a new Ratchet & Clank entry, and an X-Men title, in that order. Insomniac's own leadership has pointed to ambition for a third entry before. Speaking shortly after Spider-Man 2 launched in 2023, senior creative director Bryan Intihar said of a potential follow-up, "I think it would be pretty epic," without offering specifics. The five-year gap between the first two mainline entries suggests any third installment is unlikely before September or October 2027, with a 2028 window plausible if Insomniac's parallel Venom project takes priority first. PlayStation Studios has moved toward keeping first-party, narrative single-player titles on its own hardware, the same policy behind Wolverine's PS5 exclusivity. A report tied to that policy named Ghost of Yotei and the shooter Saros alongside Wolverine as titles remaining exclusive to PlayStation 5, with online games such as Marathon serving as the exception. The Spider-Man 3 page also appears on IMDb Pro, the subscription database used within the industry for casting and production tracking, alongside the free public listing that fans discovered this week.

New console covers and controllers will be available. For the PlayStation 5 slim, both for the digital edition and those with a disc drive, "Marvel's Wolverine Battle Yellow" console covers ($74.99) will be available, alongside a custom controller with the same color scheme ($84.99). The Battle Yellow console covers will also be available for the PlayStation 5 Pro. Pre-orders will go live on August 19 at 10 AM local time via the PlayStation Direct site. Check out the trailer showcasing the new Marvel's Wolverine Limited Edition PlayStation 5 bundles and accessories below: Marvel's Wolverine will release on September 15 for PlayStation 5. The PlayStation Store describes the game as follows: The game will explore Logan's signature spin on heroism - which is much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac. Independence is often the way of Wolverine, although he'll encounter familiar faces on his journey, like the elusive Mystique and the brutish Omega Red. Some will fight alongside Logan against all odds, while others will unleash all-out attacks, such as the Reavers, an enemy faction that will keep its hero's instincts on edge. In this original story, Wolverine is on the hunt to uncover the secrets of a dark past that keeps eluding him. His search for answers will send him on perilous excursions to exotic locales, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada and the narrow city streets of Tokyo - all potential battlegrounds for fierce, bloody, destructive action.
