German account fintech Integral bags €18m Series A. Integral provides SMEs with AI agents to consolidate bookkeeping, tax, and payroll into digestible data. September 21, 2026 German accounting fintech Integral has raised €18 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Mosaic Ventures and Reid Hoffman. Repeat backers Cherry Ventures, General Catalyst and Puzzle Ventures also took part in the round. Founded in 2024, Integral provides tax, accounting, and payroll services to small businesses, and uses AI agents internally to complete workflows prior to human sign off. The fintech claims that its platform can cut average monthly accounting turnaround "from weeks to hours". Following the Series A, Integral has now raised more than €30 million in total funding. Co-founder and CEO Lukas Zörner says the capital will be used to "push automation even deeper across all workflows". This push will include new hires across the AI engineering and commercial teams, as well as the onboarding of more licensed professionals. Integral also plans to further develop its "proprietary compliance intelligence for regulated financial work". In a blog post, Zörner adds that accounting, tax, and payroll are only the platform's foundation, "not the ceiling". He states: "Exciting things in the pipeline to come soon!" Berlin-based Integral raises €18 million to deliver AI-run accounting, tax and payroll services to SMEs. September 16, 2026 Integral, a Berlin-based AI-powered services company innovating accounting, taxation, and payroll for SMEs, today announced its €18 million Series A funding round. The company has raised more than €30 million since its founding less than two years ago. The round was co-led by Mosaic Ventures and Reid Hoffman, with participation from existing investors Cherry Ventures, General Catalyst and Puzzle Ventures. In November 2025, the company announced the acquisition of cleverlohn, a digital payroll and HR provider in Germany, along with funding from General Catalyst, Cherry Ventures, and Puzzle Ventures. This followed its €6.3 million raise in February 2025. "With AI, it's possible to rebuild industries from the ground up - not just sell better software. In accounting, tax and payroll, the need is obvious as labour shortages are only getting worse. Integral is uniquely well positioned to solve that problem in Germany and beyond," said Chandar Lal, Partner at Mosaic Ventures. Founded in 2024 by Lukas Zörner and Anil Can Baykal, Integral brings together licensed tax professionals and AI engineers to deliver AI-run accounting, tax and payroll services, so founders can stop managing compliance paperwork and focus on growth. The company states that the AI agents do the work that would require an entire tax and accounting team. These agents reconcile invoices and bank transactions, create the account postings, and prepare payroll runs and tax filings. It notes that every review by a licensed professional feeds back into the platform, so the automation deepens with every client served. It reports that for more than 50% of clients, agents now prepare the books end-to-end, cutting the average monthly accounting turnaround from weeks to hours, while licensed professionals remain in full control, reviewing and signing every filing. "Software doesn't file your business's taxes. It doesn't run your payroll and it doesn't sign your annual accounts. A licensed professional does, and there are fewer of them every year. So instead of building yet another tool for professionals, we built the firm itself: AI agents do the work, licensed experts stand behind every result. The deeper our automation goes, the better the service. This investment round lets us push automation even deeper across all workflows, and it validates that AI-native services is the winning model to rebuild this industry," said Zörner, co-founder and CEO of Integral. The German startup reported that Integral Tax, an independent licensed firm affiliated with Integral, runs entirely on its platform and uses its AI agents to serve businesses across Germany. Since the beginning of the year, the firm's professionals have already doubled the number of clients each of them can serve. The company highlighted that it is a recognised public audit firm (Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, WPG) under the German Public Accountant Act (WPO) and is subject to oversight by the Chamber of Public Accountants (Wirtschaftsprüferkammer). It states that its processes are designed to meet GDPR requirements. Defined access rights and documented procedures ensure client data is handled in a controlled manner. Its systems are built around the statutory duty of professional confidentiality, and client data is processed separately and never disclosed without authorisation, Integral assures. It also mentions that all client data is stored and processed exclusively in European data centres. "AI's real promise is amplifying what people can do, not replacing them. Integral shows what that looks like in one of the most regulated, trust-dependent industries there is: agents that multiply the reach of licensed professionals, so every small business gets the kind of financial expertise once reserved for large corporations. That's the pattern the next decade of professional services will follow, and Lukas and Anil are building it where the bar is highest: Germany," said Reid Hoffman. The company plans to use this capital to accelerate hiring across AI engineering, licensed professionals and commercial teams. It will also deepen automation across complex accounting, tax and payroll workflows and advance Integral's proprietary compliance intelligence for regulated financial work.
