Intelliguard and Accucold have launched an RFID-enabled refrigeration cabinet for medication management, integrating real-time inventory tracking directly into temperature-controlled storage. The Mira Care Inventory Cabinet combines Accucold's medical-grade refrigeration with Intelliguard's RFID platform. The system automatically tracks medication location, expiration dates, recall exposure and temperature data whilst logging user access. It operates within Intelliguard's Mira Ecosystem, supporting both source-tagged and self-tagged medications aligned with GS1 standards. The announcement follows a recent C$20 million medication loss in Canada caused by an open freezer drawer, highlighting demand for automated inventory controls in healthcare. Accucold refrigerators are widely used across North American hospitals. The integrated cabinets will be available in various sizes across the Pharma-Vac product line for pharmacies and clinical areas.
