Nokia's decline weighed on the stock market, insiders buying.

Nokia's decline weighed on the stock market, insiders buying. Earnings reporters Sanoma and Aspocomp ended up rising. Mandatum's share price got a boost from analysts' buy recommendations. Today at 18:37 Helsinki Stock Exchange's OMXH general index ended Wednesday down 0.4 percent at 13,001 points, after having been clearly up during the day. At the top of the exchange's turnover, Nokia fell 3.5 percent to 7.56 euros and Nordea fell 0.5 percent to 17.25 euros. The rise in oil price boosted Neste's share price by four percent. Nokia's HR director Kristen Pressner and director responsible for geopolitics and societal relations Mikko Hautala bought Nokia shares today at a price of about 7.84 euros, Hautala for about 56,000 euros and Pressner for about 520,000 euros. Mandatum was near the top of the exchange's gainers, up 3.8 percent at 5.95 euros. SEB and DNB Carnegie raised their recommendations for Mandatum yesterday from hold to buy. SEB reiterated a target price of 6.20 euros and DNB of 7.00 euros for the share. Educational materials and media company Sanoma and circuit board manufacturer Aspocomp reported their second quarter results on Wednesday morning. Sanoma's adjusted operating profit grew in April-June, but less than analysts expected. The company's revenue also fell short of analysts' expectations and declined from the comparable period. Sanoma's share rose 2.1 percent. "We are progressing as planned towards a significant improvement in the group's adjusted operating profit in 2026," Sanoma's CEO Rob Kolkman commented in the earnings report. Sanoma kept its guidance unchanged, expecting revenue of 1.29-1.34 billion euros and adjusted operating profit of 205-225 million euros in 2026. Aspocomp said the company's order backlog grew to record levels. Revenue and operating profit grew largely in line with Inderes' expectations, but earnings per share fell short of Inderes' forecast. The company's share was up 1.4 percent at the end of the day. According to Aspocomp, the market environment has remained strong both in the defense industry and especially in semiconductor industry customers, which are boosted by the growth in AI chip testing. The company expects its profitability to improve in the second half of the year. Aspocomp guides that revenue will increase and operating profit will improve this year compared to 2025. Marketing and communications company Ilkka (-2.7%) issued a profit warning. Ilkka lowered its outlook for 2026 regarding revenue and adjusted operating profit from own operations. Uncertainty in the market and the prevailing geopolitical situation affect the group's revenue development more than previously estimated, the company explained. According to the updated guidance, Ilkka Group's revenue from continuing operations is expected to remain at the previous year's level. Adjusted operating profit from own operations is expected to decrease from the previous year. Previously, the company expected revenue to rise and adjusted operating profit from own operations to remain at the previous year's level. Crane manufacturer Konecranes (-1.6%) appointed Mara Zavagno as the company's new HR director. He will start in his new position at the beginning of October. The company's current HR director Anneli Karkovirta will retire in August. Engineering workshop Kalmar (-1.5%) received an order from Brazilian terminal operator Portonave for five electric container stackers. Kalmar described the order as large. The order was booked into the company's second quarter order backlog. The equipment will be delivered in the last quarter of the current year.

How robust orders and Mitsubishi deal will impact Konecranes (HLSE:KCR) investors.

How robust orders and Mitsubishi deal will impact Konecranes (HLSE:KCR) investors. July 28, 2026 * Konecranes Plc recently reported past second-quarter 2026 results showing sales of €1,019.5 million and net income of €90.6 million, alongside reaffirmed full-year 2026 guidance for net sales to remain roughly flat or increase versus 2025. * At the same time, the company highlighted a strong order intake, a three-year high order book of €3.40 billion, and a planned majority acquisition of Mitsubishi Electric's Japanese wire rope hoist and gear motor business, underscoring its efforts to expand its installed base and future service potential. * Now we'll examine how this robust order book and reiterated guidance might influence Konecranes' existing investment narrative and risk balance. Konecranes investment narrative recap. To own Konecranes, you need to believe that its large order book and service potential can offset cyclicality in industrial and port demand. The latest results show softer sales and earnings, but the three year high backlog and reaffirmed 2026 sales guidance help support the near term revenue outlook. The biggest near term risk still looks like order volatility and execution on that backlog, rather than any single quarter's margin or earnings print, so this news does not radically shift the story. The most relevant recent announcement here is the planned majority acquisition of Mitsubishi Electric's Japanese wire rope hoist and gear motor business. Combined with Q2's 13% year on year order intake growth and €3.40 billion order book, this move points to a broader installed base that could support future service activity. For investors focused on catalysts, the question is whether this expanding footprint can meaningfully counterbalance macro driven order swings in core industrial and port segments. Yet despite the solid backlog, investors should be aware that execution risks around converting that €3.40 billion order book into profitable revenue could... Konecranes' narrative projects €4.8 billion revenue and €508.0 million earnings by 2029. This requires 5.1% yearly revenue growth and about a €114.5 million earnings increase from €393.5 million today. Exploring other perspectives. Some of the lowest analysts were already cautious, assuming revenue of about €5.0 billion and earnings of roughly €540.8 million by 2029, so if you worry that execution and protectionism could undermine today's strong backlog, this more pessimistic view offers a useful counterpoint to consider alongside the latest guidance and orders. Konecranes lifts Brazil renewables.

Konecranes lifts Brazil renewables. Konecranes has won two crane modernization projects from AXIA Energia, one of Brazil's leading renewable energy and electricity transmission companies. The projects involve the modernization of overhead cranes and gantry cranes at the Manso and Mascarenhas de Moraes hydroelectric power plants in Brazil. * The contracts were signed in May 2026, with the modernization scheduled for 2027. The modernization projects will support AXIA Energia's broader program to upgrade its hydroelectric power generation facilities. The cranes and gantries are essential for the maintenance and modernization of the plants' turbines and will play an important role throughout the plant upgrade process. The scope of supply includes the electrical and mechanical modernization of five cranes at the two power plants: two overhead cranes and three gantry cranes. The work includes the replacement of drives and drive motors, installation of new braking systems, implementation of variable frequency drives (VFDs), upgrades to the control and automation systems, installation of radio remote controls and modernization of operator cabins. At the Mascarenhas de Moraes Hydroelectric Power Plant in Minas Gerais, Konecranes will modernize one gantry crane with a 200-ton main hoist and a 25-ton auxiliary hoist. The modernization is scheduled for February 2027. At the Manso Hydroelectric Power Plant in Mato Grosso, Konecranes will modernize four cranes, including two overhead cranes with capacities of 65/15/5 tons and two gantry cranes with capacities of 20 tons and 15 tons. The work is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. "Hydropower plant modernizations place high demands on lifting equipment and its reliability. By upgrading the cranes' mechanical and control systems, we are preparing the equipment for intensive use during the turbine modernization projects and improving its safety, reliability and availability to support the plant upgrades," says Fellipi Pereira, Senior Account Executive, Konecranes. The projects involve the modernization of overhead cranes and gantry cranes at the Manso and Mascarenhas de Moraes hydroelectric power plants in Brazil. A strong focus on customers, commitment to business growth, and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader. This is underpinned by investments in digitalization and technology, as well as efforts to make material flows more efficient with solutions that support the decarbonization of the economy and advance circularity and safety.
