La Ligne teams up with Steve McQueen's estate on a new capsule that pays tribute to the king of Cool. Yes, there's a chunky cable knit sweater in the mix. By Sophie DweckPublished: Feb 19, 2026 2:52 PM EST Steve McQueen got the nickname as "King of Cool" for a reason. Best remembered for his iconic roles in '60s and '70s blockbuster films like The Great Escape and The Thomas Crown Affair, the late actor was known for his effortless on-screen charisma, minimalist acting, and suave persona. He also was passionate car and motorcycle racer, and damn-good dresser whose fashion choices continue to influence nearly 50 years after his passing. Steve McQueen in 1965. To celebrate his trademark rugged style, La Ligne has launched a special edition collection, created in partnership with McQueen's estate, which also aligns with the brand's 10-year anniversary. Drawing on McQueen's timeless aesthetic and La Ligne's signature ease and refinement, the limited-edition unisex capsule consists of six classic staples, including a cream cableknit sweater, versatile overshirt, polo sweater, ribbed sweater, and a chunky shawl collar cardigan. "My grandfather's influence endures not just because of what he wore, but how he wore it," Molly McQueen, granddaughter of Steve McQueen and Founder of The Steve McQueen Foundation, said in a statement. "Everything appeared effortless, but that effortlessness was deliberate. He was meticulous about the details. What makes this collaboration so meaningful is that La Ligne understands that distinction. Their pieces carry the same sense of ease and quiet confidence that defined him." Mark Ronson and Grace Gummer star in the campaign. That timeless mindset is central to La Ligne, where we design pieces meant to feel confident, and lived-in from the start." The campaign stars Mark Ronson and Grace Gummer, and was photographed by Daniel Arnold and styled by Nicky Campbell. A portion of proceeds from the collection will benefit The Steve McQueen Foundation, which supports the next generation of storytellers by providing better access to the arts through education and mentorship.
