Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • LAC opened Leon Creek Flats in May 2026, proving leasing and delivery execution.
  • Rochester approved $27.2 million bonds and $1.4 million TIF for Commons on Bear Creek.
  • Huxley Yards, 553 units, broke ground June 2024, expanding Midwest development momentum.

What critics are saying

  • Tax-credit and tax-exempt bond closings gate every project; 2027 market tightening halts pipeline.
  • Construction delays at Leon Creek Flats or NSA East Bank compress returns and damage reputation.
  • If LIHTC policy weakens, LAC's development-heavy model loses financing and stalls entirely.

What makes Lincoln Avenue Communities unique

  • LAC combines affordable development with adaptive reuse, like New Orleans' NSA East Bank, January 2026.
  • Its 32-state, 170-plus-property platform gives repeatable municipal relationships and execution scale.
  • LAC pairs affordability with sustainability, including solar offset communities in Orlando and New Orleans.

Abstract Security raises $25M, recurring revenue up 380%

Abstract Security has raised $25 million in a Series A extension to expand its composable security operations platform. The startup's annual recurring revenue grew 380% over the past year, whilst net revenue retention reached 264% and its customer base tripled. Founded in 2023, Abstract offers an alternative to traditional security information and event management platforms. Its streaming-first architecture runs threat detection whilst data is moving, rather than after storage, and routes information to multiple destinations without vendor lock-in. The platform includes Astro AI for detection, triage, investigation and response. It's available through AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud marketplaces. Cheyenne Ventures and Atlantic Vantage Point co-led the round. The extension was raised at three times Abstract's prior valuation, bringing total funding to nearly $50 million.
