Dynata names Marcus Casal CPTO to advance AI and data strategy. Published on: Oct 19, 2026 Dynata has appointed Marcus Casal as chief product and technology officer (CPTO), bringing product development, engineering, artificial intelligence, and data strategy under a unified leadership structure. The move comes as the first-party data company seeks to modernize its platforms and expand how its verified human panel supports market research, media measurement, and AI workflows. Casal joins from Lionbridge, where he served as chief technology officer, with more than 25 years of experience across product, technology, engineering, and data operations. Dynata unifies product, technology, and AI leadership. Dynata has appointed Marcus Casal as chief product and technology officer, placing him on its executive leadership team and tasking him with overseeing product development, AI and data strategy, and engineering. The appointment supports Dynata's effort to turn its first-party data capabilities into technology-enabled offerings for customers across research, media, and artificial intelligence markets. The company says Casal will focus on automation, data science, and modernizing how it develops and delivers data products. The combined leadership remit is intended to improve coordination between product strategy and technical execution. For data businesses, that alignment can influence how quickly new capabilities reach customers, how consistently platforms evolve, and how effectively data assets are converted into repeatable products. Dynata CEO Mike Petrullo described the appointment as part of the company's broader transformation, citing the need to bring together product vision, technology delivery, data strategy, and innovation. Experience in ai-powered platforms. Casal joins Dynata from Lionbridge, a provider of language, content, and data services, where he most recently served as chief technology officer. According to Dynata, he helped evolve services businesses into technology-enabled, AI-powered platforms. Before Lionbridge, Casal held executive roles at Acolad and its predecessor, AMPLEXOR International, leading global product, technology, engineering, and data teams. His career has included platform modernization, AI innovation, organizational transformation, and business transitions. At Dynata, the challenge will be applying that experience to a business whose data assets depend on reaching and verifying human respondents. The company positions its verified human panel as a core differentiator in an environment where organizations increasingly use AI to support research, analytics, and automated decision-making. Casal said Dynata's panel provides a foundation for serving research and AI customers, with an opportunity to integrate human judgment into AI training, evaluation, and measurement workflows. Verified human data meets the AI market. The appointment highlights a wider industry question: as AI systems become more capable, how can businesses ensure their models and outputs are grounded in reliable information and evaluated against human perspectives? Human-generated data can contribute to model training and testing, while structured feedback and evaluation can help organizations assess whether AI outputs meet defined quality standards. In market research, verified respondents also remain important for understanding consumer attitudes and behaviors. For Dynata, connecting its panel and data capabilities to more scalable products could open opportunities beyond traditional research services. But the commercial opportunity depends on data quality, representativeness, consent and privacy practices, and the suitability of each dataset for its intended use. Not every research dataset is appropriate for AI training or evaluation, and buyers will need clarity about provenance, permitted use, and quality controls. Platform modernization and product execution. As CPTO, Casal will oversee product, technology, engineering, AI, and data capabilities under a unified leadership structure. Dynata says the model is designed to accelerate product development, improve organizational agility, and strengthen the connection between innovation and customer outcomes. The announcement does not specify individual product launches, investment levels, or timelines for the transformation. Its immediate significance is organizational: Dynata is consolidating leadership over the capabilities it considers central to its next phase of growth. Execution will determine whether the structure translates into tangible improvements. Customers will ultimately assess the strategy through the usability of new data products, integration with existing workflows, speed of delivery, and the reliability of the underlying data. Market landscape. Dynata operates at the intersection of market research, first-party data, audience insights, and data services for AI-related applications. These markets are changing as organizations seek dependable data to understand customers, measure campaigns, and develop or evaluate AI systems. The competitive environment includes research and insights providers, data platforms, and specialist firms supplying human feedback or datasets for AI development. Dynata's stated advantage is its verified human panel and the data capabilities built around it. However, a large panel alone does not establish a competitive advantage across every use case. Data freshness, respondent verification, sample quality, representativeness, privacy safeguards, and integration capabilities all influence its value. The company will need to demonstrate how its planned technology investments translate into differentiated products and customer outcomes. Strategic outlook. Casal's appointment signals that Dynata intends to make product and technology execution more central to its growth strategy. Bringing AI, engineering, data, and product development under one leader could reduce organizational friction and help the company build repeatable offerings from its existing data assets. The larger opportunity is to connect verified human insights with AI development and evaluation workflows. Realizing it will require clear data governance, reliable quality controls, transparent usage rights, and products that customers can integrate efficiently. Dynata has outlined the leadership structure and strategic priorities, but it has not yet provided measurable targets or a detailed product roadmap. The next indicators to watch will be new product releases, evidence of customer adoption, and demonstrated improvements in the speed and quality of data delivery. Top insights. * Executive leadership change: Dynata appoints Marcus Casal as CPTO, consolidating product development, engineering, AI, and data strategy under one executive. * AI-focused platform transformation: The company plans to expand automation, strengthen data science, and modernize its approach to developing and delivering data products. * Verified human data positioning: Dynata aims to apply its human panel and first-party data capabilities to research, media, and AI training, evaluation, and measurement. * Technology leadership experience: Casal joins from Lionbridge after senior roles involving AI-powered platforms, product development, engineering, and organizational transformation. * Execution remains the test: Dynata has described strategic priorities but has not disclosed specific delivery timelines, investment figures, or quantified customer outcomes.

Lionbridge Games wins "Best Overall Use of AI in Gaming" Award in 2026 AI Breakthrough Awards program. Lionbridge earns AI Breakthrough recognition for third consecutive year with game-specific AI localization platform This recognition affirms what its customers are already telling International World Times: a purpose-built solution for games makes all the difference." - Tugdual Delisle, Managing Director, Lionbridge Games WALTHAM, MA, UNITED STATES, June 25, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / - Lionbridge Games, the world's leading global provider of game localization, audio, testing, and player experience services, today announced that its AI-driven localization platform, Lionbridge Samurai(TM), has been selected as the winner of the "Best Overall Use of AI in Gaming" award at the 9th annual AI Breakthrough Awards program conducted by AI Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global Artificial Intelligence market. The accolade recognizes Samurai as the first production-ready, game-specific, AI-driven localization solution that removes the trade-off between innovation and reliability. Game localization sits at the intersection of creative storytelling, technical complexity, and high-stakes player expectations. Most general-purpose AI translation tools have struggled to handle this combination. Generic LLMs frequently miss nuances in character voice, cultural references, and platform constraints, thus producing errors that require costly manual remediation before titles can ship. Samurai was built specifically for this context. It places linguistic and cultural expertise at the center of a game-specific AI workflow, allowing studios to capture the speed and efficiency advantages of AI without compromising quality control that loyal player communities demand. From the customer perspective, Samurai operates as a familiar Translation, Editing, and Proofreading (TEP) engagement, with the AI gains applied behind the scenes through expert configuration tailored to each specific intellectual property. "Game developers are under enormous pressure to ship globally without sacrificing the experiences their players expect," said Tugdual Delisle, Managing Director, Lionbridge Games. "Samurai was built to take that pressure off by supercharging human expertise with AI speed to deliver the uncompromising quality control that great games demand. This recognition affirms what our customers are already telling us: a purpose-built solution for games makes all the difference." Underpinning the workflow is a structured Linguistic Quality Evaluation framework aligned with Multidimensional Quality Metrics principles. This approach captures AI and human quality in the same environment and feeds a closed-loop system to monitor delivery against TEP-equivalent thresholds and refine configurations for live-service content updates. Since its launch, Samurai has delivered 26 million target words across 42 game titles, with 55 language pairs in production for 29 active customers. "Lionbridge Samurai impressed us with the care and craftsmanship behind its design, and with the depth of expertise the team has brought to a difficult problem," said Steve Johansson, Managing Director, AI Breakthrough. "We are proud to recognize Lionbridge Games as our 2026 Best Overall Use of AI in Gaming winner." The achievement marks the third consecutive year Lionbridge has been honored by the AI Breakthrough Awards program for its industry-defining AI leadership. Lionbridge previously won "AI Model Validation Solution of the Year" for Aurora AI Studio(TM) in 2025, and "Best Machine Translation Solution" for Smart MT(TM) in 2024. Lionbridge brings in new CEO following change in ownership. Lionbridge has named Sebastian Bretschneider as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 4, 2026. Bretschneider has served as a senior executive at a variety of businesses globally, with a track record in turnaround and "transformation" roles. The CEO change comes three months after global investment firm KKR took over ownership of Lionbridge from H.I.G. Capital Management. Bretschneider replaces John Fennelly, who had served as CEO of the super agency since 2017. "Lionbridge sits at the intersection of language and technology and has built impressive global scale while serving some of the world's most respected companies," said Bretschneider in a press release announcing the appointment. "The company's global footprint, its depth of customer relationships, and the caliber of its people are extraordinary. I'm honored to join Lionbridge at this moment and look forward to partnering with the team during this phase to accelerate what's being built here." Partner spotlight Riding the AI shockwave The future of AI adoption depends on trust, ethics and human expertise. Bretschneider's LinkedIn profile says he has "a proven record of successfully implemented transformation/turnaround mandates" and that he is "Industry-agnostic, with a focus on asset-/people-based industries." Lionbridge's Chief AI Officer Will Rowlands-Rees told Slator that the company is "winning new business at a strong pace, and the priority continues to be delivering successful outcomes" for clients, and that Bretschneider is focused on "building on that momentum, ensuring we continue to meet customers' evolving needs, and helping them succeed in an increasingly complex global market." Bretschneider's appointment comes at a time when large, incumbent Language Solutions Integrators (LSIs) like Lionbridge grapple with the impact of AI on a traditionally human-centric industry. Rowlands-Rees noted that Lionbridge has a "comprehensive suite of AI solutions" including the Aurora AI orchestration platform and multiple products for AI-driven localization and multilingual content. He also highlighted the company's data-for-AI business, Lionbridge AI, which is "providing ethically sourced training data, expert annotation, and human-in-the-loop evaluation, backed by our global community of more than half a million experts." Lionbridge has reentered data-for-AI in recent years after selling much of that business in 2021 to Telus for nearly USD 1bn.
Lionbridge, a global leader in translation, localisation and AI data services, has appointed Sebastian Bretschneider as chief executive officer, effective 4 May 2026. Bretschneider brings over 20 years of experience leading global businesses, with a track record in operational excellence and strategic transformation. He has served as a senior executive across Europe, the Middle East and the United States, implementing large-scale initiatives for various global enterprises. "Lionbridge sits at the intersection of language and technology and has built impressive global scale whilst serving some of the world's most respected companies," Bretschneider said. Waltham, Massachusetts-based Lionbridge serves major brands across technology, games, life sciences and other industries, offering content solutions in over 350 languages through its global network of language experts and proprietary AI capabilities.
