MVP Health Care partners with Movn Health to offer virtual at-home cardiac rehab

MVP Health Care partners with Movn Health to offer virtual at-home cardiac rehab. Wed, February 18, 2026 at 3:22 PM MVP Health Care partners with Movn Health offer virtual cardiac rehabilitation. As American Heart Month shines a spotlight on cardiovascular health in February, MVP Health Care in Schenectady is preparing to roll out a new way for some Capital Region patients to recover after a cardiac event - without leaving home. MVP has partnered with Movn Health to offer virtual, at-home cardiac rehabilitation for any of MVP's 75,000 Medicare Advantage members who are recovering from a cardiac event. The program is set to open to MVP's Medicare Advantage members starting March 1st, with the hope it will expand to all MVP members in the future. Virtual cardiac rehabilitation sessions typically begin with a check-in on a patient's health data and how they're feeling. "With the advent of technology now and what's occurred with COVID and really the push in telemedicine, a lot of these platforms came out," said MVP Health Care President Dr. Richard Dal Col said. MVP ran a pilot program with Movn last year, with roughly 400 people participating and about 60% completing the program. "The patients loved it. We loved it and we had good results," Dal Col said. Movn Health CEO and co-founder Harsh Vathsangam said the program connects patients with qualified health professionals. "We connect you with a qualified health professional, like a nurse or a exercise physiologist, who then works with you to take those broad lessons and break it down into practical, actionable steps," Vathsangam said. Mental Health Matters Day coming to Albany in March In addition to one-on-one sessions, Movn also offers live virtual health classes and wearable technology that allows patients to track health data such as heart rate and steps. Vathsangam said expanding access is a key goal. "One of the things that's really important to us is that we actually increase access and increase access equitably. And being able to do care at home is a big part of that," he said. Doctors say cardiac rehabilitation has proven vital regardless of where it takes place. "Readmission rates were down. People were much more functional when they left the hospital. Well, recovery was much quicker," Dal Col said.
