Maxon creates 3D and visual effects software for artists and studios, including Cinema 4D, Redshift, ZBrush, and Red Giant. Cinema 4D handles modeling and animation, ZBrush focuses on digital sculpting, Redshift is a GPU-accelerated renderer, and Red Giant offers VFX plugins for color, motion, and compositing. The tools are part of an integrated family under the Nemetschek Group, providing a cohesive workflow from modeling to final output for film, TV, and games. The goal is to help artists bring complex ideas to life efficiently, with software that scales from individual creators to large production pipelines.

Maxon has announced that Redshift now integrates with Autodesk Revit, bringing real-time, ray-traced rendering directly into the widely used BIM platform. The company also opened beta sign-ups for Redshift for Graphisoft Archicad, expanding its architectural visualization offerings across the AEC sector. Redshift for Archviz enables architects and interior designers to create photorealistic renders and immersive walkthroughs without leaving their BIM environment. The integration features live BIM synchronisation for rapid design iteration and stores visualisation data directly in the host software. Maxon showcased the integrations at the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design 2026 in San Diego from 10-13 June. New platform features include depth of field effects, AI-powered asset search, and simplified vegetation asset integration. The Redshift for Archicad beta aims for commercial release later in 2026.
Maxon has announced major expansions making its professional creative tools more accessible, including Cinema 4D for iPad, a free version of Autograph, and support for Windows on Arm devices. Cinema 4D for iPad, launching in late 2026, will bring professional 3D modelling to mobile platforms for the first time, optimised for touch workflows. Autograph, Maxon's motion graphics and compositing application, returns as a free download for individual users with full core features. The company is also expanding its entire ecosystem to Windows on Arm devices, with ZBrush, Cinema 4D and Red Giant tools now available on compatible tablets and desktops. These announcements will be showcased at NAB 2026 in Las Vegas from 18-22 April.
Maxon has launched Redshift for Vectorworks, marking its official entry into the architecture, engineering and construction market. The company has also opened beta sign-ups for Redshift for Autodesk Revit, with Graphisoft Archicad integration planned for later in 2026. The solution brings Maxon's cinema-quality rendering technology directly into CAD and BIM platforms, enabling real-time design previews and photorealistic renders. It includes intelligent asset libraries, procedural tools, AI-assisted search, and full Mac and Windows compatibility. Redshift for Vectorworks is available now through Maxon or Vectorworks at what the company claims is a significantly lower price than market alternatives. The integration allows single-click project transfers to Cinema 4D for advanced modelling, animation and rendering. Maxon has raised $295 million to date.
Maxon has appointed Steve Forde as Chief Product Officer to lead its global product organisation and drive strategy across its creative software portfolio. Forde will work alongside Philip Losch, Chief Technology and AI Officer, to advance innovation for the 2D and 3D design platform. Forde brings extensive experience from senior roles at Adobe and Amazon, where he led product teams for platforms including Adobe After Effects and Amazon Prime Video. He previously founded GridIron Software, developing plugins for Adobe After Effects. As CPO, Forde will focus on establishing long-term product vision whilst scaling Maxon's operations to support global teams and enterprise growth. His appointment comes as the company expands into new markets, aiming to make 3D creation tools accessible to broader audiences beyond traditional creative professionals.
Maxon has acquired Laubwerk, a Berlin-based CG software company known for procedural 3D plant models. This acquisition enhances Maxon's Capsules project, providing artists with essential assets to boost creativity. Laubwerk's plant models will be integrated into Maxon One, benefiting users with Redshift-ready trees and plants in the Cinema 4D Asset Browser. The partnership aims to accelerate artists' workflows and expand creative possibilities. Further updates for Laubwerk customers will follow.
