Lies of P: Complete Edition arrives on Switch 2 - and earns its place. August 3, 2026 Neowiz's acclaimed soulslike hits Switch 2 on August 6 with the Overture DLC in tow - and its first review calls it a genuine rival to FromSoftware. Nintendo Switch 2 owners are about to get one of the most celebrated non-FromSoftware soulslikes ever made. Publisher Neowiz and developer Round8 Studio release soulslike action RPG Lies of P: Complete Edition for Switch 2 on August 6. Lies of P first launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 19, 2023, and has since sold over four million units. The Complete Edition marks the game's debut on any Nintendo platform. What's in the box. Lies of P: Complete Edition includes the base game and the downloadable content expansion Overture. It also bundles all post-launch quality-of-life updates, new difficulty modes and new challenge modes. The digital edition is priced at $69.99 on Nintendo Switch 2. A physical edition is planned for release on October 2 through iam8bit. That physical release includes all game data on the Switch 2 cartridge - this is not a Game Key-Card release. What the review says. Nintendo Life published the first full review of the Switch 2 port ahead of the August 6 launch date, and it is very positive. The outlet praises the game's world design, boss encounters and the weapon customisation system - specifically the ability to mix and match blade and handle components independently to create entirely different weapon configurations. The reviewer calls this level of experimentation something they have "frankly never seen in a Soulslike." The story, set in the puppet-ravaged city of Krat, draws clear comparisons to Dark Souls and Bloodborne in the way it parcels out narrative through environmental detail and NPC dialogue, while remaining more accessible than its inspirations. Three selectable difficulty levels lower the barrier for newcomers without removing the challenge ceiling for veterans. On the combat side, the review situates Lies of P between Dark Souls and Bloodborne - blocking is possible but imperfect, with a timing-based perfect block mechanic that negates damage entirely when executed correctly. The Legion Arm system, which grants P a mechanical prosthetic with swappable abilities ranging from enemy pull-ins to flame and acid attacks, adds a further layer of build expression. Switch 2 performance. Performance on Switch 2 is flagged as the one caveat. The port ships with multiple display modes - Performance and Quality in handheld, and Performance, Balanced and Quality in docked. The reviewer notes frame rates are not locked at 60fps in all modes and advises against using Quality mode in handheld, describing it as "pretty rough." A day-one patch on Switch 2 is expected to add an improved 60fps performance mode for handheld play. Players should keep an eye out for that patch at launch. Developer and sales context. With over four million cumulative units sold globally, Lies of P and Lies of P: Overture have built a passionate player community around the adventures of Gepetto's puppet and the city of Krat. Developed by Round8 Studio and published by Neowiz, the game and its accompanying DLC have come to be known as best-in-class and award-winning experiences in the soulslike subgenre. Director Jiwon Choi noted the significance of the Nintendo launch: "Finally, we are able to share Lies of P will be coming to Nintendo platforms for the first time," Choi said, adding that the studio has "wanted to share our beautiful, dark take on Pinocchio's story with Nintendo players for a long time." For collectors, iam8bit is releasing a physical version that includes the full base game and DLC on the cartridge, and Neowiz has partnered with iam8bit on a collection of special Lies of P releases. The iam8bit Edition includes six Boss Lore Cards highlighting the strange foes P encounters on his journey. In its view, the performance caveats are real but hardly dealbreakers for a game that runs acceptably throughout - and a day-one patch targeting handheld performance is a good sign that the developers are paying attention. For Switch 2 owners who missed Lies of P in 2023, the Complete Edition looks like the right way to catch up.
Lies of P: Complete Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on august 6th. Lies of P puts players in the shoes of a puppet created by Geppetto, exploring the city of Krat, which has fallen to madness and bloodlust. Developer NEOWIZ has announced that its Soulslike hack-and-slash title Lies of P is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the form of Lies of P: Complete Edition. The port was announced with a trailer, which gives Gamingbolt a good look at the kind of visual quality that Gamingbolt can expect from Lies of P running on the Nintendo Switch 2. Check it out below. The trailer comes in at just under a minute in length, and while it doesn't showcase much in the way of gameplay, it does a great job of establishing the tone by instead focusing on key story moments, boss fight introductions, and even some moments of solitude with the protagonist hanging out in the hub. As its name might imply, along with the base game, Lies of P: Complete Edition will also include the Overture DLC, which was released on other platforms last year and expanded on the story of Lies of P by quite a bit by taking Gamingbolt to a past version of the game's primary setting - the city of Krat. In Lies of P, players take on the role of a puppet created by Geppetto who manages to get caught up in an intricate web of lies, all while the city they're in, Krat, succumbs to madness and bloodlust. One of the game's more unique aspects is its weapon system, which encourages players to experiment quite a bit by allowing them to switch between a variety of blades and handles, depending on their preferred gameplay style. Cats & Soup rolls out a Sanrio collab with a super cute new story! NEOWIZ has rolled out a new crossover for its idle mobile title Cats & Soup, bringing the adorable Sanrio characters. The collab carries new progression systems, cosmetics, and characters into the existing idle structure. So, who are the new Sanrio visitors in Cats & Soup? The update introduces Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and Pochacco as special visitors. They arrive through a story setup involving a mysterious rainbow forming above a pot of soup in the forest. Within this theme, you continue the usual loop of preparing food and managing spaces, but now with additional elements from the visiting characters. Activities such as running a café, preparing desserts, and organising picnic outings also involve the visitors. Droid Gamers Inc. all know that Cats & Soup is extremely charming, but with the Sanrio collab, you can take everything a notch higher. You can customise the overall environment to match the softer, character-driven aesthetic associated with Sanrio. The update also extends to decorative systems, letting you reshape your minirooms with themed items and designs. It's all about redesigning your forest spaces into a more cohesive kawaii style. Yeah, Sanrio-like kawaii! Till when is the collab running? The collaboration event is running through May 6th, 2026. A Dice Event lets you move across a board by rolling, earning event currency that you can exchange for the Cinnamoroll Slide and Pompompurin Music Box. Meanwhile, a 7-Day Login Event provides a Pompompurin Mini Costume Set at no cost if you log in consistently. Special collaboration packages add the Sanrio characters as guests appearing on spinning teacup rides. Also, there are Wind-up Toy companions that reflect each character's personality. Lastly, a set of new gameplay additions arrives with the Cats & Soup x Sanrio collab. It includes the Workshop on Wheels Sanrio event, an Attendance Event titled Sanrio characters Cherry Blossom Picnic, and a new Special Soup Pass. The game has also introduced a new regular cat breed, Peterbald, along with two limited-time baby kitties, Cherry Blossom Shorthair and Forsythia Persian. Both kittens remain available at the Observatory until the first update in May. Further additions include a new cooking facility Cutting Melons and a rest facility Fish Mobile Lounge.
South korean AI game firm Verse8 raises $5m seed round. Verse8, a Seoul-based AI game creation platform, raised US$5 million in a seed round backed by Story Foundation and investors including Nexpace, Neowiz, and MARBLEX. The company said the platform has reached over 3.5 million monthly active users across play and creation, supported by more than 5,000 active creators and 25,000 games generated since launching in stealth in July. Creators can generate multiplayer games in minutes using natural language prompts without coding. The startup was founded by JC Kim and Kevin Lee, with Jake Song as an advisor. The funding will support AI development and expand creator onboarding and distribution. Food for thought. Implications, context, and why it matters. Verse8's business model uses an on-chain IP layer. * Verse8 manages intellectual property across 25,000 games through Story Protocol, an on-chain system that registers IP and tracks ownership 1. * It ties in-game items to non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and supports on-chain licensing, which lets creators and IP holders track usage and royalties 2. * In the live beta, users can make legal derivative works by remixing existing projects into new game variations 3. Large gaming groups are backing AI-assisted game creation. * Nexpace, the Web3 arm of Nexon and the developer behind MapleStory Universe, announced a strategic investment in Verse8 4. * Verse8 said its seed round also included MARBLEX, Netmarble's Web3 arm, alongside Nexpace [summary]. * Verse8 founder JC Kim said generative AI could cut game development costs by up to 90% 5. * This approach could turn static intellectual property into a licensing platform where IP holders earn royalties from assets used by AI-assisted creators 2. * The model could lead to a market of fast prototypes and change how large franchises handle user-generated content and monetization.
