Newforma launches Microsoft Teams connector to preserve AECO project records and reduce dispute risk

Newforma has launched a Microsoft Teams connector for its Konekt platform, designed to help architecture, engineering, construction and owner firms preserve project communication records. The integration automatically captures Teams conversations, file edits and deleted messages, syncing them with corresponding projects in Newforma Konekt. The connector addresses a growing challenge where critical project decisions occur in Teams channels outside formal documentation systems. It preserves communication history beyond Teams' typical retention, maintaining previous message versions with timestamps and flagging deleted content whilst keeping it in the record. "Project teams should be able to work in the tools that help them move quickly without sacrificing the integrity of the project record," said Carl Veillette, chief product officer at Newforma. The connector is now available to help firms manage compliance obligations and potential disputes.
