Nouryon has announced a new senior secured mid-high yield bond offering with a maximum size of €875 million, structured as a 5NC1 (five-year non-callable one year) instrument. The offering is part of the company's capital structure optimisation and refinancing strategy. The proposed issuance reflects Nouryon's efforts to maintain a robust balance sheet amid evolving market conditions. The company has demonstrated strong operational performance, recently launching HBED, a high-performance iron chelate for agricultural productivity in challenging soil conditions. The offering is expected to attract institutional investors interested in mid-high yield European corporate debt. Nouryon's sustainability initiatives and strategic partnerships, including its open-to-public programme in China, position the company to support long-term growth whilst meeting financial objectives.
The European Commission has approved BASF's sale of its coatings division to Carlyle Group, but with conditions. BASF must divest Nouryon, a polysulfide manufacturer, to address competition concerns. The Commission said Nouryon is one of only two global suppliers of polysulfides, which are essential for aerospace sealants—a market where BASF Coatings also operates. Brussels regulators determined the merged entity could restrict competitors' access to polysulfides and exploit commercially sensitive information. The approval marks a significant step in BASF's divestment strategy, though the financial terms of the Carlyle transaction were not disclosed.
Nouryon has launched Perkadox PM-60ST-GR, the first commercially available organic peroxide solution designed to restore performance in degraded recycled polypropylene. The technology enables recyclers and processors to use more recycled material in packaging, automotive and consumer goods applications that traditionally required virgin plastic. Added during extrusion, Perkadox rebuilds the polymer's molecular structure, restoring strength and consistency. Testing showed it increased resistance to deformation when molten by up to 10 times and improved melt viscosity, giving processors better control during processing. The global specialty chemicals leader is presenting the product at Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2026 in Amsterdam from 5–6 May. Nouryon employs over 8,000 people globally and operates 14 innovation centres.
Nouryon expands oilfield innovation with new Houston research center. Published: 06 May 2026 Advanced chemistry driving oilfield innovation. Nouryon has started a new innovation center in Houston, United States, focused on oilfield solutions. Also, this step is important for the company because it strengthens its work in the energy and oilfield sector, especially in North America. The center is designed to support the development of better chemical solutions used in oil and gas operations as per the published report. Furthermore, the main idea behind this innovation center is to improve how oilfield processes are supported through advanced chemistry. These processes include drilling activities, production systems, and other technical operations in the oilfield industry. The center will help in finding new and improved ways to make these operations more efficient and reliable. Furthermore, the purpose of this facility is collaboration. It is not only a research place but also a space where experts, customers, and technical teams can work together. They can discuss real industry problems and try to find practical solutions. This helps in connecting science with real-world industrial needs in a more direct way. According to Towards Chemicals And Materials Analytics and Consulting, the global oilfield services market size was estimated at USD 312.55 billion in 2025 and is expected to be worth around USD 541.52 billion by 2035, growing at a CAGR of 5.65% from 2026 to 2035, due to heavy industrialization. Moreover, this innovation center reflects the company's focus on improving oilfield chemistry through research, collaboration, and testing. It shows a clear effort to support the industry with more advanced and practical solutions. The goal is to make oilfield operations more efficient while also focusing on better performance and continuous improvement.
