OSI Systems is a diversified technology company with three core divisions: Security, Healthcare, and Optoelectronics and Manufacturing. The Security division builds inspection systems for airports, seaports, and border checkpoints that scan people and goods using imaging and sensors; the Healthcare division makes patient monitoring and diagnostic equipment that clinicians use to track vital signs; and the Optoelectronics division produces electronic components used in various devices. The company differentiates itself by combining these three lines under one organization and growing through acquisitions like Rapiscan Security Systems and Spacelabs Medical, which broaden its capabilities and markets and provide multiple revenue streams. Its goal is to design, manufacture, and deliver technology-enabled solutions that protect people and infrastructure, support clinical care, and supply high-quality electronic components for multiple industries.

OSI Systems' Security division has secured a $15 million task order from a US government customer for cargo and vehicle inspection systems, along with ongoing service and support. The company is also actively pursuing acquisitions to expand its business. The contract reinforces the importance of government customers to OSI Systems' Security division. Cargo and vehicle inspection systems typically lead to multi-year service and maintenance arrangements, potentially deepening customer relationships and raising barriers to competitors like Leidos and Smiths Group. The stock is currently trading around $222.10, up 6.3% over the past week but down 24.1% over the past month. Management's acquisition strategy could reshape the company's competitive position, though integration risks remain alongside existing operational complexities from managing a global contract pipeline.

OSI Systems reported fiscal Q3 2026 revenues of $453 million and non-GAAP earnings per diluted share of $2.60, both quarterly records. Excluding revenues from large security contracts in Mexico, Security division revenues grew 25% year over year, whilst the Optoelectronics and Manufacturing division posted 10% growth. The company achieved a 1.3 book-to-bill ratio, resulting in a record backlog of approximately $1.9 billion. Strong bookings included a Homeland Defense award with a not-to-exceed value of approximately $235 million for radar transmit subsystems production. OSI Systems generated $14 million in operating cash flow during Q3, despite limited collections on Mexican receivables. After quarter end, the company collected approximately $74 million of the largest Mexico receivable.
OSI Systems has reported record first-quarter results for fiscal year 2025, with revenues increasing 23% year-over-year to $344 million. The security technology company's Security division drove growth with revenues up 36% year-over-year. Non-GAAP adjusted earnings per share reached a Q1 record of $1.25, whilst the company maintained a backlog of approximately $1.8 billion. OSI completed a $350 million convertible debt financing in July, which reduced borrowing costs and enabled the repurchase of around 531,000 shares. The company also completed a strategic acquisition in its Security division during September, which is expected to be accretive to fiscal 2025 non-GAAP earnings. CEO Deepak Chopra expressed optimism about the remainder of fiscal 2025 and beyond, citing the near all-time high backlog.
OSI Systems' Security division has secured an Undefinitised Contract Action worth up to $235 million to produce and integrate a homeland defence over-the-horizon radar transmit subsystem for long-range tracking. Despite the substantial award, shares fell 5.4%. The contract reinforces OSI's capabilities in radio frequency engineering and defence manufacturing, adding to a recent $30 million order for RF-based communications and surveillance systems announced on 8 January. However, the phased, undefinitised structure means the award won't immediately impact near-term catalysts. OSI's narrative projects $2.1 billion in revenue and $227.2 million in earnings by 2029, requiring 5.7% annual revenue growth. Community fair value estimates range between $264 and $300 per share, though investors remain exposed to funding delays and concentrated government customer risk.
