Otter Co-op

Otter Co-op

Community-owned cooperative operating diverse retail

Overview

Otter Co-op runs a network of groceries, liquor stores, feed mills, fuel facilities, and hospitality venues as a locally owned cooperative serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and BC Interior since 1922. It operates through a member-owned model that manages diverse formats under one umbrella to supply everyday needs, including groceries, liquor, fuel, animal feed, and dining experiences. Unlike single-format retailers, Otter Co-op combines food, fuel, liquor, and hospitality with a strong local presence and long history focused on community wellbeing. Its goal is to be a trusted local partner by providing convenient access to daily essentials, supporting local jobs and economy, and reflecting a home-like, community-centric ethos with the motto “You’re at Home Here.”

Otter Co-Op, Angry Otter Liquor continue Langley RibFest support.

Otter Co-Op, Angry Otter Liquor continue Langley RibFest support. Published 2:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2026 Otter Co-Op Sean Weatherly, Allison MacAllister, and Lauren MacAllister were present for the 2024 Langley RibFest. The Co-op has once again agreed to be the title sponsor for the annual three-day charity food festival in Langley. (Black Press Media files) Otter Co-Op and Angry Otter Liquor have renewed their commitment to the Langley community through a three-year title sponsorship of RibFest Langley, extending a partnership that now spans almost a decade. The agreement covers this year's festival, planned for Aug. 14 to 16, and reinforces the organizations' long-standing role in supporting one of the region's most popular summer events. "Community is at the heart of everything we do at Otter Co-op and Angry Otter Liquor, and we're proud to continue our partnership with Langley RibFest," said CEO Jack Nicholson. The Co-Op has served as title sponsor for the past three years and has supported the festival since 2018, when Angry Otter Liquor stores first took on a Beer Garden sponsorship. "The Rotary Clubs of Langley are proud and deeply grateful for the continued partnership of Otter Co-op and Angry Otter Liquor as Ribfest's title sponsors," said Michael Bolu, Co-Chair of Ribfest Langley. "Their support is vital in keeping the event accessible to all while helping us raise essential funds for local charities." Bolu added that the sponsorship helps maintain affordable access to the event while supporting fundraising efforts for community programs and Rotary service initiatives. RibFest Langley is organized by the Rotary Clubs of Langley and has grown into a major summer attraction in the Fraser Valley, drawing visitors from across the Lower Mainland. Last year's event welcomed more than 47,000 attendees and raised $155,844 for local organizations and Rotary-supported service projects. The renewed multi-year commitment provides stability for the festival as it continues to grow. "We are proud to support an event that brings people together and gives back so significantly to our local Rotary service clubs and charities," said Nicholson. This year's RibFest is expected to draw about 50,000 people, said co-chair of RibFest Langley Rick Davis. "Whether it is great food and beverages, outstanding live music, or sports and interactive attractions there is something for everyone," he said. The festival features live entertainment, award-winning rib vendors, a wide selection of food and beverages, and a dedicated kids' zone, offering activities and entertainment for all ages.
