News in brief - 11 june 2026.

News in brief - 11 june 2026. By Dan McGrath 11/06/2026 Atom bank has reduced rates on its near prime range by 0.10%. The reductions apply across the entirety of the lender's range, covering products from 60% to 90% LTV, including both fee-charging and fee-free options. As a result, rates now start from 5.39% on a two-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,995 fee. Alongside the rate reductions, Atom bank has introduced a higher maximum LTV of 90% LTV to support near prime borrowers with more modest deposits. Investec Save has increased the rate on its one-year fixed rate cash ISA to 4.68% AER, which is currently one of the highest rates available for one-year fixed rate cash ISAs according to Moneyfacts. The firm said the increase comes as demand for tax-free savings surges with total net inflows into cash ISAs forecast to grow by as much as 20% this tax year. The one-year fixed rate cash ISA enables customers to lock in fixed rates for longer, helping them to grow their savings and make the most of their tax-free ISA allowance. Quilter has appointed Justin Towlson as head of sales for strategic growth. He joins the firm from Wesleyan, where he served as regional sales manager, and prior to that, he spent time at Aegon progressing through various roles, most recently as sales director. Towlson will focus on developing new business opportunities for Quilter's platform, strengthening relationships across the UK intermediary market and working with regional distribution teams to support advisers and their clients. Buckinghamshire Building Society has cut rates on a selection of products within its credit revive and credit restore mortgage range. The changes include reductions of up to 30 bps across five products, reinforcing the society's commitment to support underserved borrowers through flexible lending solutions and personalised underwriting. The credit revive range is now available as a two-year fix at 5.89% and 6.19% at 70% and 85% LTV respectively, while its three-year credit restore products now start from 6.29% at 60% LTV and 6.69% at 75% LTV.

PIMCO and Quilter partner on new global government bond fund.

PIMCO and Quilter partner on new global government bond fund. The new strategy has been added to the Quilter Managed portfolio range as part of an impromptu rebalance of the MPS 13 May 2026 Quilter Investors has launched the Quilter Investors Global Government Bond fund for its managed portfolio service (MPS), set to be run by PIMCO. The new mandate will be led by Andrew Balls, CIO of global fixed income at PIMCO, with support from senior portfolio managers and analysts. It has been added to the Quilter team's managed portfolio range as part of an ad-hoc rebalance, through reducing the exposure to the existing passively-managed government bond holding, the team explained. Stuart Clark, portfolio manager of Quilter's WealthSelect MPS, said: "Andrew and his team bring a wealth of expertise, and we believe PIMCO's investment philosophy, which emphasises a long-term, secular outlook, helping to avoid reactive decisions driven by short-term market sentiment, is an ideal fit for our managed portfolios." As part of this rebalance, Clark and his team also opted to take profits from the equity allocation, following a recent rally in equity markets and topped up laggard positions in the precious metals allocation. Simon Hillenbrand, head of UK global wealth management at PIMCO, said they were "delighted" to continue their partnership with the Quilter team. "Active management in fixed income is particularly important in the current environment, and we look forward to contributing to the WealthSelect Managed Portfolio Service and supporting Quilter's objectives for clients," he concluded.
