RIVR develops multimodal robots for last-mile delivery and urban logistics. Its main product is a wheeled-legged robot that combines wheel efficiency with leg mobility to carry tools, materials, goods, and sensors across urban distances with energy efficiency. Revenue comes from selling or leasing these robots and providing maintenance and support; the company differentiates itself with a hybrid wheeled-legged platform that outperforms traditional wheels and lightweight drones and integrates well with urban environments. Its goal is to improve the efficiency and reliability of urban last-mile delivery while reducing energy use and human labor.

Today, Swiss-Mile is announcing a $22 million seed funding round led by Jeff Bezos through Bezos Expeditions and HongShan. This round also includes participation from the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Armada Investment, with continued support from the existing investor Linear Capital. This distinguished investor consortium is proudly welcomed to join the journey in delivering embodied AI, poised to transform and improve millions of lives.
Amazon has acquired Rivr, a Zurich-based autonomous robotics startup, to enhance its delivery operations, according to the Information. The company was valued at $110 million in an August 2024 funding round. Amazon and Jeff Bezos' investment firm Bezos Expeditions participated in that funding round, with Amazon having previously invested through its Industrial Innovation Fund. Rivr's robots use AI models and combine four legs with wheels to navigate streets and deliver packages. An Amazon spokesperson said the acquisition "reflects our commitment to a continued investment in research, which we believe has the potential to further improve safety outcomes and the overall delivery experience for delivery service partners and their delivery associates.
Rivr has secured over $25 million in funding, including investments from a round led by Jeff Bezos, valuing the company at $100 million.
In collaboration with Evri, UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company, Swiss startup Rivr has launched a pilot project to deliver packages with its wheeled-legged electric robots in the UK, starting with Barnsley. During the three-month pilot, the robot will work in tandem with human staff to reduce delivery times. The launch of robotic delivery by Evri will be a UK industry first. Rivr (formerly Swiss-Mile) is pioneering General Physical AI by deploying robots in last-mile delivery, giving one human the power of 1,000 robots. By combining artificial neural networks with a wheeled-leg robot design, Rivr enhances efficiency, sustainability, and scalability in urban mobility in last-mile and last-100-yard delivery. Their mission to deploy 1M+ robots lays the foundation for the data flywheel that fuels robotic intelligence. Following its rebranding, Rivr is already making headlines aims in the logistics industry
Listen to this articleAWS and Isaac Sim can help accelerate robotics development, says NVIDIA. NVIDIA Corp. today announced at AWS re:Invent enhanced tools for robotics developers, as well as the availability of NVIDIA DGX Cloud on Amazon Web Services and offerings for artificial intelligence and quantum computing. The company said that NVIDIA Isaac Sim is now available on NVIDIA L40S graphics processing units (GPUs) in Amazon Elastic Cloud Computing (EC2) G6e instances. It said this could double scaling robotics simulation and accelerate AI model training. Isaac Sim is a reference application built on NVIDIA Omniverse for developers to simulate and test AI-driven robots in physically based virtual environments
