Overview

Recoding America is a nonprofit focused on modernizing the U.S. government’s operating model to improve digital-era public services. It acts as a cross-ideological field catalyst, building coalitions and infrastructure to support reforms at federal and state levels through two sister entities: a 501(c)(3) for education and program work, and a 501(c)(4) for lobbying via Recoding America Action. Rather than chasing a single policy area, it emphasizes four foundational competencies of a modern government operating model and helps policymakers, agency leaders, technologists, and philanthropies collaborate on policy implementation. Its six-year plan aims to raise state and federal capacity so government can reliably deliver better outcomes.
