Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), an alcohol distributor, could lay off hundreds of employees across four Florida facilities following a pending asset sale to Reyes Holdings. The potential cuts would affect 363 employees in Deerfield Beach, 393 in Tampa, 169 in Jacksonville and 121 in Pensacola. According to a WARN Notice filed on 22 April, the layoffs at the Deerfield Beach location would begin on or within 14 days of 21 June. The transaction includes RNDC facilities across 11 US states and Washington DC. RNDC said the deal is on track to close by the end of May, subject to regulatory approval. Whilst Reyes may offer employment to some affected workers, the company stated there are no guarantees as discussions remain ongoing.
